Nicko's Resto Bar

The breakfast I had was good, very basic but that's what was expected. They have an option for rye bread. The reason for my 2 star review is that upon paying for all of our meals mine was slightly more expensive then others who had the same. Apparently they charge for jam/peanut butter. This was not mentioned when it was brought over. was not for me, but ended up on my bill without a word being said. Also the jams that we did use were dried out and seemed like they had been heated and cooled many times before we got them. The honey was hard.

I was fiddling around on a road trip with a buddy, Mike. He's often pretty particular about his food and we had driven in from Montrealand I remembered seeing a bunch of quaint looking places in vankleek Hill on the way to driving over to the brewery up from Hawkesbury Ontario and we hit a corner street figuratively speaking of course :-) LOL that had a woman putting out a sign saying book saleand my buddy Mike is a big big book reader. So we followed the sign and the lady and parked in the back of the church went in bought a few CDs for me and he didn't buy any books much to my surprise! But I was happy and then across the street or just down a bit was this joint named Niko'sand among three different recommendations by the church ladies and one of the church ladies sons who just walked in and finished eating there, we were told that was a pretty good place and so we pick that.. inside it's far less pretentious then they're lovely signage outside.... But what it did have is really decent food, especially breakfast menu, served quickly efficiently and with great charm from the waitress and we found out that was the owner and his wife further down at a few. we ended up speaking to them about running a restaurant of this type and all the work involved when it's a family business. My buddy Mike grew up in a family business that also have to do with books, surprise surprise LOL.I really found the food to be decent and tasty and have that homemade feel to it. Did I remember saying they got farm fresh eggs or something like that?!?whatever it was it was perfect for the moment and if I'm in vankleek Hill again and need to have a decent bite, then my food enjoyment radar will drive me right there.I've been exploring the restaurants of Hawkesbury Ontario and now I'm starting vankleek Hill explorations. this is a good standard fare restaurant with simple chairs and tables and a hard-working staff with good food.as a matter of fact remembering it my mouth is watering cuz it's Saturday morning at 11 and I haven't even had my coffee yet so I'm going to whip up some good food thinking of theirs.N

Went in for breakfast and it was delicious and the waitress was so nice .I would recommend this restaurant

Came here last minute as a large group after being ignored for 45 minutes at the Blueberry Bistro across the street. Natalie our waitress was amazing, getting our food and drinks in a timely manner.

Enjoyed our lunch here; excellent lunch specials with a soup (or fries), Philly steak sandwich, soft drink and an amazing dessert (we loved both chocolate cake and tiramisu mousse)! Excellent homemade chicken noodle soup! Super friendly and helpful staff. They also serve all day breakfast from 7am.

In the heart of vankleek Hill lives this family restaurant and bar that has hardworking folks providing tasty and well priced food. out of all the places reviewed for restaurants in vankleek Hill in the top 10, this is one of the top three but has the best price of them all and it's highly casual. Good food and good.

1 star for customer service and that's it. Bacon was so overcooked I thought I was eating a tire. Eggs were completely overdone when I ordered Sunnyside up and they even sent me away with a parting gift. Order comes with a side of ham aka fried Bologna. Thanks for the food poisoning Nicki's.

Great, local breakfast joint. Friendly, quick service and quality food in good quantities. The full breakfast (effectively a trucker special) was enough food for a filling lunch - really happy with my choice!

Great huge portion size. Friendly warm welcome! house Salad dressing a bit too sweet for my liking but the césar salad was amazing

Absolutely love going there. Food is great and the service is even better. Always a smile on the waitress and a good the other diners get in on conversations with you because it's a family atmosphere. Highly recommended
