Blessed Scalabrini Catholic Elementary School
As a graduate of this school, I can say that this school is pretty decent, but not the best. I have attended this school for the last 8 years, and about 2 months ago, I graduated. From the 8 years I've been here, I can say it's surely been one experience. From recent years, I've started to grasp a better understanding of how things should work, and how things have changed for the better and the worst. I can say without hesitation that most of the staff are great in some ways. Some are better than others, some teachers have completely helped me and made my life better; some teachers, however, do the opposite. But of course, this comes with every school. The thing I hated most about this school, was how the choices and decisions were made, just in general. For example, in my last 2 years of being in this school, technology was necessary to keep up with our work and made projects for the better, the technology that allowed us to do work was such a, helping factor in my education and I love the fact that our school allowed us to use them. However, with every luxury in life, there is always something that ruins it. That in this scenario was the lack of Chromebooks. I'm not saying that we had a lack of Chromebooks as a whole, I'm saying that the entire school had to share them. I know for a fact that every grade had them, which is terrible in my opinion. Because half the school didn't use them for education purposes. In the first grade, there is no way that a 6-year-old child would know how to set up a slide show, and there is no way that a Chromebook would drastically affect a 6-year-olds education as much as it would affect a 12-14-year-old kid. Every time we used the Chromebooks in our classroom, there was never enough, meaning we would have to share (which was a total pain) or we would have to borrow from the lower grades. If our luck was against us the grade 7's would be using them, and they also did not have enough to supply their whole class. This meant we had to borrow from the primary classes, grades 1-6 which was stupid. Every time we would borrow them, the machines weren't treated with care whatsoever, and it would be an absolute pain working with them; sticky keys, broken frames, etc. In my head, it was obvious that the higher grades should've been prioritized, in my mind children that are around 6 years old shouldn't have access to technology unless it's for special needs such as language translation, or things like ESL. Not for just toying around with, on top of that the children are not given a proper idea of how to take care of the machines or even punished for damaging these Chromebooks. Our school has not had them for a long time and already most of them are broken, if I remember correctly the grade 7-8's did not damage a single one from the time I was there. The next thing I hated about my school was the way our school spent our money and funding, it was so stupid how the school decided to spend the money our parents had donated for better education"

My name is Yasna. This is a very good school because the teachers and staff were very nice ever since I first came here in Grade 2. I am a former student I used to go here from Grade 2 to Grade 6. From my experience this is the BEST School ever.

10 years at BSI. Amazing school, great teachers and a lot of fun. I've had a lot of good memories at Blessed Scalabrini from kindergarten to grade 8, and this school was the best.

Took my then 3yr old son to the daycare and since it was his first day and he was scared and crying I asked the staff to please let him hold his stuffed baby jaguar for the day. They reassured me they would. I came back 2 hrs later as they were going outside and once they entered the enclosed space, one of the teachers snatched the jaguar out of his hands. I walked right up to him and took him home. How sad that anyone would treat a child in this manner.
