Ian Jataura is a friendly bloke who owns and operates the stone shop. He began working in masonry as a teen and has been the business ever since.I stopped in to buy soapstone for a teen's birthday and left with 100$CAD of soapstone and a tool pouch. Hopefully someone in the family will take up soapstone carving and we will have the opportunity to learn more about the stone business.Finding the shop and parking are easy..., just follow the stone dust!

Unique and truly spectacular spot for all things stone carving. The owner is not only an absolute hoot, but incredibly knowledgeable and willing to work with artists for what stones work for them. There's also a good selection of tools, but the stone selection is solid, pun intended, and he has what appear to be good stones regularly coming in. Highly recommend!
