St. Clair College Student Residence - Windsor Campus

I've been living here the school year and it is quite disappointing. If you plan on living here be prepared to use the stairs. Elevators are super slow because there are only 2, but the real bad part is that they break down every few weeks. Sometimes it has taken over a week to fix them and they have broken down both multiple times. The cleaning service is good and friendly so is the desk staff. Laundry is reasonable but a pain in the ass unless you live on the first floor same with cooking. It's even worse when the elevators are broken and you have to carry stuff up and down the stairs. It's usually reasonably quite, even on the weekends. Sometimes loud broads make lots noise going down the hall, but it's livable. Decent place but there is alot of room for improvement. Hopefully I can edit this if anything else comes to mind.

My husband and I stayed there for our regional convention. The service we received while booking & check-in was wonderful! When our weekend ended & we got back home to Sarnia, we realized that we had accidentally left a garment bag with his brand new suits, shirts & ties in our room. The honesty and kind reception given to us when we called about whether we had left the items was very heartwarming! When we called we were helped by a young man named Patrick. He looked into the situation, called us back immediately & we were able to arrange for our items to be picked up! Thank you so much Patrick Halligan for your consideration & honesty!

The rooms weren't fancy but they were nice, quiet and clean. There were even some sports team staying there but you couldn't hear them.It was great having a kitchenette, but be sure to bring your own plates, utensils etc.The front desk was accommodating, however, our keys deactivated several times during our stay.

Currently living in the residence as a full time student and I can say that I’m loving it! Rooms are spacious and each individual gets a private room, shared common area and a bathroom in an 2 bedroom suite which is really good compared to most of the other residences where you hardly get your private space. Wi-Fi is super fast throughout the building. The management makes sure that the building remains clean at all times. A common kitchen is available in the building, however, you are allowed to bring electric automatic shut off devices in your suite only if the device has been approved by a residence staff member. As a student, you can get great opportunities to socialize by engaging in the residence community activities or by being an resident advisor (RA). Housekeeping comes and cleans the common areas of your suite once in 2 weeks which is not bad. However, I’d really like if the residence could change the strap blinders to roll up and down blinders as the the straps of current blinders keep falling off no matter how careful you are with them. Overall, I love the residence, I feel safe and will definitely be coming back for the spring semester.

Noise is off the charts You can hear everything . Bedding is old and dated. Temperature control is awful and I liken it to being down south it’s so humid and clammy. Feels like a cell no window or sitting area in kitchen…and shower is a small triangle. But If you expect to sleep I would NOT recommend.

Arrived around midnight to no one at the front desk and waited patiently for about 5 minutes, assuming someone would promptly be back. Had to use our cell phones to call the front desk repeatedly for another 3 minutes before someone came. Have stayed here before and really enjoyed it. Not so much anymore. They don't offer the breakfast anymore, just coffee and hot water in the lobby, with some apples. While there were some complimentary toiletries included, there was only a bar of soap, conditioner, and lotion. So if you don't bring your own you might be out of luck. Room was still clean. Used to be a great alternative for our family at less than $80/night, but since the price increased to almost $100/night ($107 with tax), I'd much rather take my family to somewhere with a breakfast! Won't be back for just a one night stay, but would consider it for a longer duration.

Stayed for a sports tournament. The room was spacious for a college residence. Two separate bedrooms with double beds. Small kitchenette area with full size fridge, sink and microwave. The price was great and staff very friendly. The place was clean. I found the beds comfortable. Linens and towels were thin. Bottom sheet was a flat sheet, not a fitted sheet so beds got tangled. Overall, it was a great stay, nice campus and if back I would definitely consider this accommodation.

My daughter was enrolled in St. Clair at the height of the pandemic and, though we live nearby, wanted the dorm experience. The building was quite close to where her classes were held and despite not being able to have roommates and not being able to gather, the Residence did it's best to engage the students. When I went in to pay for the residence, the facility was very clean and the staff very professional. There was a bus that came once per week to take those students who needed transportation to the grocery store. Due to the pandemic, I only ever saw pictures of the room but it looked very nice and the one time she needed maintenance, she said that they responded very quickly. Move in went smoothly and when she left the school when all of her classes went online, there was a penalty as anyone would expect with the breaking of a lease, but we got more money back than expected and the facility was very fair in these unusual times. I would recommend the residence for students attending St. Clair.

Nice residence, staff are wonderful and lobby is always decorated for whatever season/holiday it is. The rooms are small but have high ceilings which makes it feel more spacious.

Stayed here while I was in college, was fairly nice. First floor rooms have higher ceilings thanks to the drop ceiling in hallways/kitchens for utilities, which makes the rooms feel way bigger. Cleaning staff is good, wish the fridges were bigger. It's not sufficient for 2 people who both cook meals regularly instead of eating out or making instant food.
