Seriously the best walnut cakes ever, even better than the ones I had in Korea recently. Good old traditional red bean and white bean paste ones are always fantastic but ‘pastry’(buttery croissant batter) ones are MUST try. ‘Pastry’ ones are the owner/baker’s modern approach to this traditional Korean fav dessert. Try with cold milk, hot coffee or vanilla ice cream! Just so divine. These are also good frozen too, just like cream puffs but with sweet beans filling. Amazing for summer treats. This should be nominated for BEST OF VANCOUVER!

Finally made it here for some freshly-made treats. Both the red bean walnut and the custard were great. Made the mistake of only getting 6 of each, so will definitely have to go back soon!

I tried the one with custard filling and the one with red beam filling. They were just cooked and both of them tasted amazing. Can't wait to try matcha flavour and red bean matcha flavour!

Very nice and yummy walnut snacks! We ordered red bean and custard and we really liked the red bean. The walnuts inside were very big and crunchy, the red bean paste was not super sweet as well, perfect for us. The custard was not bad, but not the best to us, yet still worth a try. The manager or staff? was very nice. Price was ok, not too expensive.

The warm walnut cake balls were delicious! The cake texture was similar to pancake - soft & airy. The custard inside had the perfect sweetness & creamy. I prefer the original but my brother likes the matcha more. It is dangerously yummy and I could eat lots of them!

A good option for those who are looking to try something different, Hoduya walnut cake balls offers different flavors. The have option to grab an americano or cappuccino coffee. The place is small, but the person try to keep it clean! Really good in that aspect. You waiting time around 5 minutes but it is ok! My order took less! Overall good if you want to try something sweet.
