Matt did a small project for us this past weekend. My takeaways. Quality and knowledgeable work. He is very willing to teach and explain his craft. A very patient and affable individual, that makes you feel comfortable and at ease instantly. Hiring a contractor can be a stressful experience, but once you met Matt your fears will be at ease . I highly recommend Matt and his team

Working with Matt has been great. He is very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and professional. I was not blessed with a green thumb but Matt has made the process easy. He listened closely to my ideas and wish list and found perennials and hard-to-kill plants and flowers. I am so excited to see the project come together.

I first heard about The Growing Season from their very entertaining radio show /podcast. Then when I met with Matt for a quote, knowing nothing about gardening/landscaping, I asked for 3 things: low maintenance plants (I do not have a green thumb!), lots of colour throughout the season and to stay on budget. He hit ALL three. Matt, Jack and Lynne went above and beyond to create a garden beyond my dreams. But it didn't just end once the garden was planted, Matt also helped with aftercare when I had questions. Jack also noticed we had empty pots so he offered to fill them and WOW! they are stunning. Every morning now, I eat breakfast outside just to see what new flowers have bloomed. I would not hesitate to recommend The Growing Season.

Our experience with Matt McFarland and crew was fantastic. From initial consultation, to design, to rock garden installation and to planting it was a 5++ star rating the entire way through the process. Matt provided expert and passionate advice and weaved our existing back and front yard landscaping into his design by reusing and incorporating most of what we already had in place. Matt was able to get all the work done, as promised, in time for a backyard garden party and Matt’s work stole the show! We would recommend Matt without hesitation.

Had a fantastic experience with Matt and Jack. They designed a garden for our front lawn virtually and we are thrilled with the final product. It's absolutely clear that they are passionate about their work and extremely knowledgeable. Their design exceeded our expectations. Every detail was so well thought out and deliberate, taking into account everything from the local conditions, to choosing plant material that would compliment the colours of our house, to creating flow throughout the garden. Even incorporating a beautiful pathway so when my kids or the mailman wanted a quick way to get to the front door they could do so without disturbing the garden. I'm especially pleased that they were able to create a garden that we can admire all year long. We couldn't be more pleased and are looking forward to bringing their vision to life.

I am so impressed and highly recommend The Growing Season. Matt and Jack took into consideration all of the elements, my colour scheme as well as 4 season interest.. for the front and back yard. They spent the time to go every aspect of the deign with me over zoom and answered all my questions. Matt started planning our design last fall .He presented us with a drawing and description which showed detail and a vision of what we wanted. The work was just competed last week and we are beyond impressed. Matt and his team are knowledgeable, talented, hard working and friendly. They engaged us throughout the planning and implementation. This review will not do justice in what a wonderful experience it has been working with Matt and Jack. From my first round of texts with Matt, I was enthralled with his enthusiasm and knowledge. The process was seamless from beginning to end. He worked with our budget and timeline, producing a plan that took into account our family (3 kids) and lifestyle (2 large dogs). Matt’s kindness and excitement is something I wish I could find in every service provider. He took the time to get to know our needs and desires and responded to every inquiry and concern almost instantly. Each budget and timeline was clear and fair, a true rarity in this age. And the design TGS provided is stunning and fits perfectly in our space.I would recommend Matt and Jack wholeheartedly and without reservations. They are beyond knowledgeable but not even a teeny bit arrogant. And it is obvious that they are beloved to their team and treat them with respect and kindness.

Matt and The Growing Season are simply amazing. We have a small front garden that we’ve been struggling with for many years. Matt had a vision to transform it, and he certainly delivered. Words cannot express how impressed we are with his work, creativity and knowledge. He’s been a pleasure to work with. Looking forward to more projects in the future.
