I'm posting pics inside and out. The meals are not from the hospital, so the menu is limited, but I'll also post a pic of the selection from the canteen machine. I had a doctor pepper zero today, which cost $2.50I'm expecting to wait for a second night for a bed in the hospital for a psychiatric assessment...I could go to st.boniface health sciences centre or Victoria. You choose pretty much your own bed times and within medical reason (eg 6 am noon 4:30 and 8:30 pm...not breakfast and lunch meds together no double dosing lol) your med times. You get your own room. My room has a foam vinyl covered mattress... my neighbors only bed that pulls out from a chair. The meals are light, and it frozen food (michelina's) and egg salad sandwiches arrowroot cracker cookies drink/juice boxes..hot instant coffee & chocolate and granola bars. And you can get take out delivered. If you smoke, you can go night or day. Also, the vestibule as they the staff call it is locked, you need to say your name or you won't get in easily. I'll ad another post if I stay longer than 2 days. Oh, the rooms have cameras in them. I think you would much prefer to change in the washroom. The ladies was room has 2 stalls and foam soap. There are about 11 rooms here. So the people traffic is down its quiet. There's no weapons allowed. I do beading, so they never took my beading needles, but then again, I'm not suicidal. I hope this helps, which is why I posted it. P.s The canteen takes bills interact and credit cards so it's almost cost free

Came here twice first time was good the woman listened and took notes politely and gave me recources. Second time was a joke. I waited for about 4 hours to be told by a lady I need to stop drinking to every problem I stated to her. Instead of listening to me, that it was a way to cope (it wasn't even the main issue) She then said she was going to chat with my mother without asking if it was okay. And as I continue to wait she's dancing around (I'm sitting here litterally wanting to die) and she's like ohhh you wanna leave so bad don't you and she then said well its gonna take a few more minutes with a huge smile on her face. Idk that really put the cherry on top for me ahah:|

Mixed feelings about this place. Out of all the workers at the CRC who have talked to me, there was one in particular who was super empathic and understanding of my situation (maybe that worker was one of the rare ones). But to be fair, they tell you not to go into your full story and save that stuff for long term counselling.. However, I do think there should be a place where you can talk in detail about what you're going through, since the counselling waiting lists can be so long.THE DOWNSIDE: I had this peer support worker" from the CRC who made me regret going to this place. She was more like a salesperson than a peer support worker. She was very pushy

I was a bit apprehensive about going to CRC based on reviews I read here, but I couldn't find any other option and this place is open 24/7. I was pleasantly surprised at how caring and good the staff are. I was able to get a pathway toward changing my situation set up much faster than if I had just booked an appointment with my GP or went to a walk in clinic. I ended up being very glad that I took the chance to go here. Where I would be right now if I had just tried to wait it out is not a great thought.Anyway, don't let bad reviews alone be the thing that changes your mind. Wait times can be long if you are being psychologically assessed. You might be looking at 4 - 6 hours so bring something to do.

They are untrained to do intake based on an individual. Lack empathy and the understanding of what a person is dealing with. Anyone can provide resources these clowns expect you to be under control when you enter or they panic and kick you out. They are incapable of actually handling someone going through issues. They will immediately direct you to the emergency centre. Please if you really are struggling and are on the brink of self harm do not rely on these people to help you. Go to the emergency ward. They even lose patients in their care.

Someone I know who shall remain nameless has been sitting in the waiting room with the same 6 people for over 4 hours. He is there now. Pretty sad he needs help but he wont stay forever, How does this help anyone?

I would record every conversation you have with the staff. They've made a habit of lying to the individuals who come seek their services which results in people experiencing worse crisis's. The staff was very standoffish and argumentative with us. Now I know not everyone is terrible, but the 4 staff members I interacted with straight up lied to us, then lied about lying to us regarding the care or options they provide. They offer no support or help, merly a chair in a private room where they're supposed to check on you - they don't. They will feed you if you ask which is something. Overall, this place is just somewhere to get your loved one in a safe place where they can't harm themselves, if you're seeking real help, go literally anywhere else. 0/5 stars

Background: I am a lead pastor of a Mennonite Church in Winnipeg. In June of 2022 I brought a member of my congregation in for emergency care.Other than the wait time being longer than I hoped for (four hours) the care that was given when we got in was exceptional. So many different levels of care were offered and given, from peer to peer small groups to professional counseling to emergency care and so much more.I didn't have time" to spend six ours at the center

I went here in 2019 to get help with my opiate addiction. The RAAM clinic is in here. The nurse was a joke and the doctor was a family doctor, they're not trained to deal with this. He told me I'd NEVER get clean without therapy and suboxone or methadone. Guess what, doc? I did what you said was impossible. I quit cold turkey in July 2020 and went through the most excruciating pain of my life. I have been clean for 2 years now without any therapy or medication and don't even think about opiates (fentanyl). Thanks for your lack of belief, lack of support, judgment and discouragement. Thanks for doing nothing when I was at my worst :) he is indeed the worst doctor in the world and this is nothing but a waste of government funding
