Ukrainian Village
When we walked into this restaurant my husband was transported to his late aunt’s house by the delicious Ukrainian cooking smells. That alone was worth the visit to the restaurant. We started off on a nostalgic note.We both had the Ukrainian dinner. Mine was the vegetarian version. The vegetarian cabbage rolls were fantastic, but I found I had to think of them as a veggie roll to not compare to what I am used to for a cabbage roll. It’s not a replacement for the original BUT it is tasty and filling in its own right.Everything was great and total soul food for these kids originally from SK. Right down to the pickle! Our hearts and stomachs were full when we left the restaurant.

The Ukrainian Sausage was exceptional, as were the perogies. I've consumed my weight in sausage but none were better than the Ukrainian Sausage. Very lean, very smokey, very delicious!

My bestie and I have come here again and again whenever I come from Victoria to visit. We had the Ukrainian iced tea (was marvellous!). Also ordered the Ukrainian dinner and it was delicious and the perfect amount of food for the price!I’m polish and really appreciate the quality of the cooking, truly home-style cooking and traditional, reminds me of my grandmothers recipes back home.Scrumptious food and fantastic friendly service, highly recommend.

Ukrainian Village
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Ukrainian Village, a charming and authentic Ukrainian restaurant that left me completely amazed. From the moment I walked in, I was struck by the warm and inviting atmosphere of the place, with its traditional decor and friendly staff. But what really stole the show was the food, and in particular, the pelmeni. This traditional Ukrainian dish consists of small dumplings filled with a savory mixture of meat and spices, and served with sour cream and herbs. When the dish arrived, I was immediately struck by the beautiful presentation. The pelmeni were arranged in a neat and appetizing pile, with a generous dollop of sour cream on top and a sprinkle of fresh herbs. But the taste was even better than the presentation. The dumplings were perfectly cooked, with a tender yet firm texture that held the filling in perfectly. The meat mixture was savory and well-seasoned, with just the right amount of spices to give it a kick without overwhelming the other flavors. And the sour cream and herbs added the perfect creamy and fresh touch to each bite.Overall, Ukrainian Village is one of the best Ukrainian restaurants I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. The atmosphere was cozy and welcoming, the service was attentive and friendly, and the food was absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a traditional Ukrainian meal that will transport you to another world of flavor, be sure to try the pelmeni at Ukrainian Village. It's a culinary experience you won't soon forget!

I used to go eat at this place a number of times, and it was great back then. But this late afternoon, I was shocked to see a MOUSE running around. Fortunately the kind waitress let me cancel my order. Also, this restaurant has become much more expensive over the years.I wonder if the owner is changed. I also feel apologetic and disappointed to learn from the past reviews that the owner is not willing to speak Ukrainian (or to provide the menu in Ukrainian language).

Based on takeout, the process was easy. Call your order in and give them your pickup time. Perogies were handmade and so were the cabbage rolls. The cabbage rolls were massive, and most importantly, delicious. Borscht was pretty good, the salad was ok. Great experience, everything was packed to go very well.
