Summerland Seniors Village

My mother has recently moved into assisted living and since that move the general manager was fired and no one will say why! There was an interim acting GM for one month and now there is a new GM. Try to contact her, haha!Every time I call to speak with her I get put through to reception saying her mailbox is full. She has been there for almost one month? The management (or lack thereof) is a joke!If you have a loved one in this facility check on them OFTEN!I have heard some of the staff talking in elevators and they say they can not work under the circumstances as lack of staff puts more workload on everyone and some have said if it doesn’t change they will quit.I’m in the process of speaking to my MLA and Interior Health Head office! I don’t even know if the Chinese conglomerate owns SS Village? I don’t know who owns it and need to find out!No, I won’t go away! I’m not stopping my inquiries and will get answers!

I have a very good friends mom that is living there and when I visited I was so impressed with the friendliness of the staff plus the beautiful flowered patio out front and the gorgeous green space in their courtyard. They even have a horseshoe pit! Love it!

My parents were long time Penticton residents and were at the stage where they desperately needed to be in assisted living. We toured a couple of facilities in Penticton and drove by others. All had extensive wait lists. We heard about Summerland Seniors Village and my wife and I did a drive by before taking my folks up. We loved the look and took my parents up for a tour. They were immediately impressed and we had them moved in a week later. They have been there almost a year now, my stepfather's health has deteriorated faster than expected and we were fortunate to be able to get him into long term care in the same building so my folks are able to see each other daily. We as a family have been impressed with the staff and the facility and it has taken a huge burden off of us as we live out of province. My folks doctor was in Penticton but with stepfather going into long term care he needed a local doctor which was arranged and he also took on my mother. My folks are very pleased with the new doctor as are we. As luck would have it, they made contact with Laurie K. who is a private companion. She has been most helpful in so many ways. All said, we are so grateful to have found SSV.

I am the POA and representative for a friend of 45 years. She has been in LTC at Summerland Seniors Village for over 4 years. She is treated with love and respect by all staff members, from the wonderful admin team, to the General Manager, to the care team. I am always informed and updated on how my friend is doing and any changes to her needs. I am so grateful to the whole team for making this her home. Thank you to everyone.

It is incredible to have found Summerland Seniors Village 14 months ago, for a 91 year old family member, newly widowed. Our whole family is so happy to have our loved one spoiled with everything she needs, so that when we come to visit her, we too feel as if we are coming home.Thank you SSV for all you do for others.From our family to yours!

It’s a very nice and cozy place for the seniors. Staffs are really good. They have a person separately for the bath, which is a really nice initiative. When I was there, there was a lurking possibility of fire and they were prepared for the evacuation

My mom has lived in assisted living now for 6 years, n she loves it there! Staff r wonderful, like family! Never a dull moment, dancing, music, bingo, dominoes, happy hour, etc! FYI, if mom is happy, so is her family!❤️

I’m the youngest tenant here, and wanted to say thank you to Harley and the team here for providing such a warm and friendly new home. Service is fantastic. My kids love Rosanna and Laurie. Clean and comfortable, housekeeping does a great job. Food is good and nutritious, lots of variety. Dog friendly is SUCH a great option.Thank you SSV.

Not helpful with the residents. Charges for extra assistance to escort residents back to their room.
