This is the worst insurance company I have ever dealt with. They won’t help you at all with your claim. They constantly lose your documents. We’ve been using them for ten years so I’ve had a lot of lost claims now. One massage claim I had to submit 6 times and make 3 calls before they finally paid it after 8 months. They bank on you giving up and just letting it go. When they deny a claim they won’t tell you exactly why or what you need to do to have it appealed. Just resubmit and MAYBE it’ll get paid. They expect you to spent 1000$ of your own money to prove you need to use your benefit but then MIGHT not pay even if you do. They also won’t tell you how to appeal a declined claim but do say you only have 30 days. But how can you spend money when they aren’t paying your disability claim to start with. We pay hefty premiums for this benefit which we can’t use half the time. We’re stuck using this company because of our employer but I would switch in a heart beat. Just please please don’t pick this company. I’ve have experience with 8 of them now and this one has been the worst. They say they ‘Care’ about their clients but I have never experienced this once in any of my dealings with them. I see the replies saying they contacted me…. But I have not heard back from them.

Worst insurance provider we've ever dealt with.No consistency in claims.No communication.Emails go unanswered, phone calls not returned.Refuse to explain any coverage details, like if something will be covered or why something wasn't covered.Good luck trying to make informed decisions regarding treatment and coverage, they will not help you and merely say submit the expense and see if it's covered.One month it can be, the next month it won't be then the next month it could be again.Worst customer service I've received from any business.It's so frustrating that the idea of finding another employer that has no affiliation with Manion actually seems like a viable and appealing alternative.Just another 1 star review. Sad.

I wish I could give 0 stars..every claim is denied, with no explanation why but they just expect you to call and PROVE to them why you’re using the services you’re provided every year.Absolutely terrible company and needs to reevaluate how they do business. Start excepting documents/forms/receipts from the dentist/mental healthcare worker yourselves and if required any additional information, they can provide it right away instead of taking a week to notify you that your request has been denied with no reasons why.Pathetic

They cover dental and some medical stuff without issues. But they always give different opinions and standards for the hsa account. Unclear why different employees have different requirements for coverage. It's frustrating when quotes are approved and the actual claim gets denied. No one seems to be on the same page there. We pay for great benefits, but have a hard time getting them.* update *After this review, the issue I was having with the HSA claim looks to be resolved. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because it's been happening for years and it took a review online to make a difference.Whoever Manion appointed to the case to help resolve my complaint did a great job. She took the time to listen to my concerns and got solutions in place. The information from the CRA Eligible Expenses and Manion's eligible expenses conflicted and it was always a battle to prove that my claim was actually eligible. There are now notes in my file and my last claim went through without issues.

This insurance company is only in business for profits. I don't know why so many unions use them for their benefits provider, other than there must be some amazing kickbacks and freebies for those at the top of the unions and companies.Nothing like being on short term over a month and getting no follow ups, information and payments until after you return to work. This is not a one time thing either, both times I used them were identical in service levels even though over a year apart.If they do call you it will be minutes before closing and they won't advise in advance of a call. That way if you miss it you can't get back to them especially not the same day.The lack of service you will get will ensure that you force yourself back to work before your actually better (twice now for me) as they will ensure you can't afford to stay on the plan to actually heal without going bankrupt.They are not there to help you get better or not go broke during critical illness they are there to payout as little as possible keeping unions and companies flush with capital savings for the executives.

I have LTD. My payment still hasn’t arrived & it’s 5 days before month end plus a bank holiday on say 5.I have called disability department directly - no response. Email, no response. I am at the end of my rope!Better off dead than continuing going in circles. They couldn’t care less whether I get paid or not.Had this problem before. Got sorry, clerical error, everything is fine & 2 months later in the same situation but if they won’t return either calls or emails what is the point?

Never had so much trouble with using something I thought I was entitled to. Good luck trying to use your HSA. Every regular claim will just get denied. It’s like pulling teeth to even get a vent out of this company

Don’t even waste your time . These guys get you to pay into their program and you can’t even use your HSA . People at my work are claiming their tools and boots without any doctors notes and getting approved . About 6 to be exact . It’s all pick and choose with this company it’s pathetic . STEER CLEARUPDATE : they literally replied to my review. Take a look at how low your score is 2.7/5 . If this was a class you would almost be failing . Shame on your whole company . It’s going down the toilet

I have contacted Local 27 about getting my pension. They immediately sent me a package about Manion Wilkins which I replied with the required information. One representative of Manion Wilkins contacted to advise me to wait a few weeks until I would be 65 years old to get the full advantage of my pension without reduction, which I have accepted to greatly my advantage. I was impressed by their concerns to make sure that I make the proper decision, and they also told me that about one week from my 65th anniversary I would receive by email the details of my pension. I give 5 stars appreciation for their efficiency, thank you so much
