@woodenspoonco brunch is SO good! The Bay eggs benny with Cajun prawns and the smoked beef hash are our faves. The Pear and Yuzu drink is my new obsession, it is one of the most refreshing drinks I’ve ever tasted!Service is among the best, extremely friendly and attentive, and food came out lightning fast!

My Husband and I tried the Wooden Spoon for the first time for his birthday brunch last week. Food was excellent!! I had the Forager Benny (SO good) and my Husband had the Pulled Pork Hash. We both got mimosas to drink. We loved the interior and vibe. We were seated right away when we arrived for our reservation. I am giving a 4 star due to the service (it wasn’t bad but wasn’t the greatest) and the mimosas could look a little nicer with a garnish and/or different glass.I definitely recommend the Wooden Spoon for some yummy brunch and will go back!

I really enjoy coming here. One of the best spots for brunch in the South Surrey / White Rock area. The food is delicious. Lots of healthy options. And a ton of savory or sweet not-so-healthy options, like poutine (pictured) and French toast. The restaurant is clean. The service friendly, but over-worked IMO. It’s a small and popular restaurant. There’s a rotating door of customers with only so much space for staff. The servers absolutely hustled the whole time we were there. Impressive but service was left wanting in the area of attentiveness. That said, I will be returning because they are kind and they do care - and the eats are worth it.PS: parking can be found out front or in the back lot.

We were out at White Rock last weekend as it was sunny and we wanted to enjoy the sun, view and go for a walk along the pier and promenade. We originally wanted to go grab some Greek food but the restaurant wasn't open, even though their sign says they are. We decided to come here as we were hungry. We were seated right away. The place is a nice quaint little spot, just off Johnston Rd. Our server was efficient, easy-going and had good recommendations. I got the farmhouse breakfast and my wife got the pulled pork hash. The food was good, her hash had lots of flavor and the pork was tender. What can I say about my plate, it had your typical breakfast items: eggs, bacon, sausage, toast, potatoes, etc.

We enjoyed this restaurant for a weekend brunch. The atmosphere is great, it feels spacious while having a lot of tables. We tried the Nanaimo bar themed cocktail and another Baileys themed one, the Nanaimo bar one was creamy and nice to try once. The French Toast portion was huge but it was okay since we shared that. The pulled pork dish was the best, I’m going back just for that. The Eggs Benedict with the Salmon was good but not the best I’ve eaten. Our waitress wasn’t very attentive, she doubled up our cocktail order and forgot to add the discount on the drinks. The food was good so that wasn’t too bad considering how busy the restaurant was on a Saturday afternoon.

Surprised I haven’t already given a review yet given how tasty this place is but here we are.The burger is top notch but everything on the menu is really alluring and wants you to order it. Found my option this time around, the poutine, to be perfectly filling. Server was nice and attentive and presentation is top notch. It is a tad cramped and expect to spend a little more but for good reason.

Set in uptown White Rock across from the Whaling wall this small bistro serves up good food with friendly staff. The food is good but served on a wooden platter( board). This can lead to a messy containment problem which detracts from the overall meal experience.Overall a fun place to go for a casual meal.

Came for brunch for the first time here. Didn't have reservation so I had to wait a while (~40min), but they called me as soon as a table became available. It has a great atmosphere & decent service. The food was not very memorable. Had the Farmhouse Breakfast and it was okay, not impressive for the price. Maybe I have to try sth different if I come again.

Wooden Spoon
I recently dined at Wooden Spoon, and I have mixed feelings about my experience. While the food itself was good in terms of taste and quality, I was disappointed by the portion sizes. The quantity of food served was relatively small, leaving me feeling unsatisfied after the meal.Another issue I encountered was the crowded seating arrangement inside the restaurant. It was quite cramped, and there were too many people packed into a limited space. This made it a bit uncomfortable and difficult to have a peaceful experience.Additionally, when I opted to sit outside, I found it to be quite cold. The outdoor seating area did not have adequate heating or insulation to keep guests comfortable, especially during colder weather. This detracted from the overall experience and made it less enjoyable. On a positive note, the food itself was tasty and well-prepared. The flavors were enjoyable, and the presentation was appealing. The staff were also polite and attentive, providing decent service throughout the meal.
