My husband often wears hats. I obliged his interest in checking out the store. Some of the women's hats looked old and musty. The proprietor immediately approached me to offer assistance. I mentioned that I was just looking and that while I don't often wear hats, my husband has quite a collection.. The propriatrix remarked that hats were for protection, not fashion. Well, alrighty then! The proprietor proceeded to insult my husband's hat, saying that it was just a cheap cap made in China. While true, it also had the logo of the car company that employed my husband for thirty years on the front. That really raised my hackles. While talking to the owners, it was clear that they know their hats and are passionate about their product, however, their social skills and salesmanship were so poor, we will definitely not be back.

Today , I purchased a Fedora hat at the most wonderful hat shop that I’ve ever been to. It was the proprietors that made it so special. They both were so attentive to what I needed. I could not be happier,if your ever in Old Quebec I urge you to check this store out.

This is the first review I have ever written but I felt it was really important. This store had unbelievably bad service. Not sure if they are racist or if that is the way the owners really run there business. Not sure how anyone would get offended by saying this store is amazing"... The old lady in the back deck came around

I've been to many place in this world and I can guarante you it's the worst customer service I've seen. Right when I entered the store the owner asked me if he could help me and I said that I was just looking for now, he responded : for how long ( with a bad attitude ), I then drop every interest in the hats and went outside and has I walked out I said I never experience that kind of service in my life!! The owner heard me and followed me outside and said to me that if I had a comment to tell him to his face! Eummmmm I don't know how you still open buddy but that's not how you treat your customers where I'm from ! Worst shop in Quebec!

I love this store. I have been to Quebec City 5 times in the past twenty years and always visit this store. Their hats are amazing and the owners really do fit you properly. I have purchased new, refurbished antique and vintage hats here. These are the hats I wear most often. I love the service they provide.

When we walked into the store a male owner approached myself and two friends. We don’t speak much french so we asked him how he was in English. He then proceeded to tell and us keep watching us. When my friend commented “C’est malade” - It is sick, when talking about how cool one of his hats was, he told us that hats were not sick. He scolded my friend about how he doesn’t like people like him who use phones just to talk. My friend learned that phrase from his tour guide.....After that the owner ranted about phones being awful and not “Smart phones” but stupid. Completely irrelevant, so we tried to leave the store. The owner held my friend up and told him that he only tells the truth and that he didn’t like him at all. Not sure how we got that out of trying to buy a hat or two. Welp, morale of the story if this store could be given zero stars, well it deserves it.

BEWARE! First review I've ever written but it's a must! We came to the store looking for 1920s style hats (yes, we had intentions of buying if we found something we liked, which I assume the owners didn't understand). The owner immediately came up to me and asked if we needed help, in French. I do not speak French so I responded, Just browsing." He asked

It was a rainy afternoon when I was walking around the city. I was without a hat and my head was drenched. I came across this small old shop and walked right in. The owner inside was very attentive and offered me many styles for hats. In the end, I purchased a City sport Cap and I was pleasant with my shopping experience.My only complaint is the price for the hats, but the service and the owners were both nice, good, and it seemed like the store has been there for many years. In the end, I was happy with my new cap.

Absolutely wonderful old world hatter shop in the heart of the old city. Like stepping back in time. The owner is a real character and the shop is her work of love for the last 23 years. Hats of all types, styles, origins and prices - even collector items. Highly recommended.

I surmise that the owners judge a book by the cover & they are also staunch old school Quebecois that most tourists have no knowledge. This is the reason that Quebec almost separated from Canada. I'm sad that so many similar confrontational experiences . The store has many beautiful 'chapeaus' & the owners have been there forever. It is way past the expiration date.
