Fantastic selection of all the kinds of wood you could look for. I went in asking if people made purple heart venir. And he had 8 different kinds of strips ready for me as soon as i walked in! Gary knows what hes talking about when it comes to anything wood, and is a fountain of good advice, and the prices are fair even for specialty pieces. If i could rate higher than 5 stars i would!

I haven't had a chance to buy anything from here yet but plan to in the near future. There is tons of selection and any questions are answered with knowledge beyond what you think you're going to get as an answer. If you're looking for specialty wood products, this will be the place to go.

Went in to get a gunwale for this boat... 16 1/2 of bend over 10 1/2' without steam.Mr. Chanin suggested the ash that you see on it in the pic.It took the bend like a champ.I think he knows what he's doing.I'll be picking up some real wood for some paddles this week

Gary has been selling wood for longer than I've been alive. He is friendly, helpful, and incredibly passionate about what he does. His supply of woods, both common and rare, is unmatched.The shop is tucked away but worth the trek. And Gary is always worth visiting for the conversation. He is welcoming to experts and amateur hobbyists. Every piece of wood comes with a story.

I'm impressed. My wife and I visited today for the first time. We were met by Gary, who immediately took us on a tour of his shop. The diversity of species here is staggering. Gary's knowledge is unparalleled, and he and the staff are genuinely helpful and eager to assist. This is the place for quality hardwood, no question. I found my supplier. Gary is the real deal.

I've been getting hardwood here for a while now and the owner is quite knowledgeable and helpful if you have the time to listen.There is an excellent selection of domestic and exotic hardwoods but if you are looking for something specific likely worth a phone call.For small orders (my orders have been between $1000 and $4000) if it's not available on the ground I would say don't bother asking for a call back when he is able to access it as the call will never come. This has occurred 4 times for me some close together some many years apart. I expect if you are making a large order the experience is different.
