Hazelmere Acres Preschool & Daycare

Our son has been at Hazelmere full time since January 2018, since September 2019 he attends on a drop in basis now that I’m on parental leave. Hazelmere has been a wonderful place for my high energy, curious, adventure boy to by a kid enjoying the nature’s around! As a parent I love that he has been able to be out doors, climb trees, get dirty, as well as participate in the preschool program. Thanks Natalie and Staff for all you do!

My daughter Sophie went to Hazelmere Acres from May 2017 to December 2019. It was very difficult at first as this was the first place she had gone away from home and she was only 2-1/2 at the time. Once she adjusted to being away during the day, she really loved going there. The teachers were wonderful and sent me pictures throughout the days to show me how she was doing throughout the days. She fell in love with the horseback riding and they did a wonderful job of getting her adjusted to being outdoors in rain or shine. She loved the rope swing and playing in the mud. My daughter had very special eating restrictions and the teachers were very conscientious about making sure she didn’t get into anything she shouldn’t be eating. She also suffers from Febryl seizures from a simple common cold leading to a fever spike. They had no problems caring for her if she started to show signs of fever and contacted me right away if I needed to be aware of her condition or come and get her. Natalie and Nikki were absolutely wonderful for my daughter and taught her about socializing and sharing and respect for herself and others. My daughter quickly grew to love her teachers too and formed a wonderful bond with them. I would highly recommend Hazelmere Acres to any parent. My daughter learned so much while she was there and she made so many friends while she attended Hazelmere. She was very sad to leave, but we relocated to Vancouver Island before she could finish the school year.

My Son went to Hazelmere Acres for nearly 2 years. I moved to Alberta or he would still be there. He loved every day, they played outside in the fresh air and climbed trees just like my childhood and went horse back riding once a month. The teachers were great and showed they clearly loved the children there, and it just wasn't a job to them. I would highly recommend this preschool for any kids that enjoy animals, playing inside and outside. Keep the good work up Hazelmere Acres.

Both my two daughters attended Hazelmere Acres Preschool and Daycare. They were so accommodating with any special requests and made my girls feel welcome. Even now that the girls are in elementary school they still ask to go back and say hi. We love running into them at the different events when our paths cross. Can’t wait for my baby to go attend in a few years.

My son attended Hazelmere Acres Preschool from June 2018 - August 2019, my husband and I tend to be hard to please - we were both very happy with the care that our son received during this period. We were very sad to leave Hazelmere Acres (we moved provinces). In fact, I called the Director after enrolling our son at another centre to ask for her advice on how to communicate with the our sons new teachers as our son was not very happy at his new school and missing Ms. Coffin and Ms. Lin so much. He still talks about them (he is now 4) nearly a year later and we speak fondly of his 'Rock'a bye baby' song with Ms. Lin and 'getting cozy' with Ms. Coffin. The communal snack time helped with our selective vegetarian (he tried bananas!) and the outdoor playtime we credit to building his confidence outdoors especially at a time when we lived in a small townhouse without a backyard. I would also like to note that I was in the beginning stages of pregnancy when I started taking my son to HA and extremely unwell, eventually to give birth and have a baby with a few hospitalizations and during this difficult, sick and emotional time the staff was always SO GOOD to us. Thank you HA for all that you did for Ashton, let us know if you're ever considering a move to Calgary!

My wife, Shelley and I have had three grandchildren attend Hazelmere Acres Preschool & Daycare. Our two grandsons are now 9 and 7 years old and they still have fond memories of attending the preschool. We recently enrolled our 4 year old granddaughter, Aliyah at the preschool and our grandsons assured her that she was going to have a fantastic time! Aliyah loves attending preschool. And we love the fact that she is well cared for. The staff takes pride in ensuring that all the children are safe and receive the one-on-one attention young children need. We love the fact that the children have outside play every day and we appreciate that the staff always ensures that Aliyah is dressed warmly for the activities. The once a month horseback riding opportunity is extremely well organized and it is obvious that the safety of the children is the staff's upmost concern. I highly recommend Hazelmere and feel fortunate that we have such a fantastic facility in South Surrey.

Our child has attended Hazelmere Acres for nearly two years. We chose Hazelmere because it offers natural learning, and a spacious play area so kids can play outdoors and get plenty of exercise, versus being indoors most of the day. Realizing the various elements the Pacific Northwest offers, there would be many times our child would be outdoors and playing in the rain, however, that has been very positive as well. Our child has been absent once due to illness, otherwise, has been the picture of perfect health. I believe that is the benefit of the outdoor focus of Hazelmere. The love, care and attention that is offered to all children there is exceptional. I cannot say enough about our Director who has personally offered us a lot of attention and support. The whole team of caregivers are exceptional as well. Our experience has been nothing short of outstanding.

My Daughter is in her second year at Hazelmere acres preschool and absolutely loves it! My son has also started this year, he is only 2.5yrs old but he couldn’t wait to go with his big sister and he has so much fun, the teachers are amazing and my kids have never had a bad day there. They do outside play everyday, horseback riding once a month, tons of crafts and fun experiments for the kids. On each of my kids 1st days at the preschool they sent me photos of them showing me how they were doing. They have also taken photos of myself with my kids during there little field trip to the pumpkin patch which I so appreciate as I’m usually the one taking the pictures!They are very understanding about potty training as my youngest is still in diapers and my older daughter would still have accidents here and there during her 1st year and they were always great about helping her never making her feel bad about it.My kids always come home with muddy/wet boots and outside gear which I think it so great because that means they had a ton of fun outside. They never make the kids stay out longer then they want, if the child is cold or just doesn’t feel like playing outside for whatever reason they are able to go inside. One of the main reasons I chose this preschool was because of the outside play and freedom for the kids to get dirty and play and just be kids! In today’s world where we don’t all have a big backyard for kids to run and play I’m so happy for my kids to have a place to run off some energy.The Director Mrs. Freedman is amazing and so supportive to not only my kids but to myself. I had my 3rd child during the last month of last school year and she was always helping me getting my daughter ready to go home while I was very pregnant, also letting my son (who wasn’t yet going to the school) play outside while I put my daughter in the car, among other things. My husband and I couldn’t be happier with this preschool.

I have to say I am so impressed with this preschool and the excellent staff here. My son has been attending Hazelmere Preschool since the fall of 2019, and we have had an amazing experience so far. I wish we had started him sooner.The staff at the school are amazing and so kind and easy to talk to. They give the kids a safe place to learn, grow, and explore. The teachers at Hazelmere Acres are providing my son with a positive, respectful, and supportive environment to learn within, while being mindful of each child’s needs and abilities. I love how they encourage each childs autonomy and how seamlessly they deal with challenging behaviours.My son always looks forward to his school days and often asks if he can stay longer. To see the smile on his face when I pick him up, and to hear the way he talks about the staff and other students gives me such joy.Our lives have been so enriched by being part of Hazelmere preschool. Thank you to all the staff at the school for being so welcoming and for taking such great care of my son.

Nothing but great things to say about this daycare/preschool. My daughter attended here for 2 years and she loved it! Loved how much she was able to play outside even in the rain! We packed her muddy buddy and extra clothes and the staff were very attentive to how long the kids were out if the weather was bad. She really loved the activities they participated in as well. Her fondest memory is horse back riding with her class and the petting zoo. She loves all her teachers there. I would highly recommend this facility for your children.
