What a gem to have in Coquitlam! One of the best croissants I’ve ever had in the lower mainland. Perfectly crispy on the outside but still pillowy on the inside! The current cardamom pistachio swirl is heavenly if you’re a cardamon lover! They also make a very good canelé. I’ve also tried some of their desserts and my favourite one is the matcha black sesame one. Those can be a little too sweet for me though! There isn’t really any seating so be prepared for that, but on a nice day, you can pick some up and go to Rocky Point or Lafarge Lake!

Fantastic.I like danishes but they're not one of those must haves" for me. The visually obvious flakiness increased my expectations (and was the reason I chose it to begin with). The coconut apricot danish I had made me smile on the first bite. It did not disappoint. The difference between something being premium and not premium is details. Their danishes are so flakey and buttery. How many times did they roll the dough to get it so flakey? The sweetness level was perfect. You want it to be sweet but not a sugar-bomb.If you don't live in the area

My husband and I went for our wedding anniversary. Glad we found this amazing local place! Enjoyed the cakes and french onion pull apart. Definitely coming back here. Plan to order a full cake for my husband's birthday next month!❤

Fantastic new bakery in the tri cities ! Beautiful welcoming space with a line up of people early in the morning ! Guests were ordering multiple pastries ! We ordered the coconut caramel apricot danish ,chocolatine and americano coffees. The pastries were outstanding and some of the best we have had! I would put them up against the pastries I have had in France! Buttery, flaky with the perfect ratio of filling ! The staff was friendly and thanked us for coming but, the most impressive was calling our name and coming out from behind the counter to give us our pastries in a beautiful bag! It the little touches of personalizing the experience ! The coffee was also good ! Branding is tastefully done ! Definitely will be a repeat favourite !

Great little spot for dessert- heard about this through a friend in the area so we made the 45 minute drive from north Vancouver and oh man was it worth it!! An awesome selection of pretty treats and we ordered 4 different items and none of them disappointed. The cereal eclair was my favourite by far. I am always sceptical of lots of positive reviews for a new place but can confirm that the pastries are awesome. This place is cashless and I asked the owner why and she told me that it reduces the risk of burglary due to recent incidents in small businesses in the lower mainland, which makes sense. It’s 2023 after all and we all have smart phones we can pay with. A must try if you are looking for a treat!

IG brought me here, but the pear financier will bring me back. Great addition to the Tricity so you don't have venture out to Vancouver to get some high quality pastries. Ordered 5 items: butter croissant, cardamon pistachio swirl, pear financier, raspberry chocolate and caramel coffee cake. The croissant was a nice balance of richness from the butter, but too rich with the flakiness I love in this pastry. Out of the 2 cakes, the raspberry chocolate was the clear winter with the crowd with the right tart from the raspberry and dark chocolate mousse (gf was a bonus!). The spiced-pear financier was the perfect crumb and nuttiness for this French almond cake. Will be coming back! Tip - you can message them on ig to place a pre-order so you don't come disappointed as the popular items do sell out by around 1pm.

So so so good! We were in Paris and had many croissants. The ones found here are just as delicious, if not better than those we had in Paris. Also, the cinnamon swirl… heaven. Hoping they add more delicious things. Truly outstanding ❤️

I was told by a friend that there is a new Patisserie in Coquitlam, BC - Pourquoi Pas Patisserie. Ordered a Classic Butter Croissant, a Mango Coconut Cake, a Canelé, and an Iced Cream Earl Grey.I ate the Mango Coconut Cake first. Many places will use too much sugar in a mousse cake. But not here – the sugar from the mango and the coconut have a delicate balance with the mango acidity. It was refreshing that I could eat the whole cake in one sitting without the need to cleanse my palate. Well done on the sugar control/balance. This will give me great expectation on your strawberry offerings.Next up Classic Butter Croissant. From the start, the croissant was not in the ‘perfect’ croissant shape. Now, this gave me great expectation as the temperature could be off by 8 C and the croissant would be deflated on one side. This shape also told me – the croissant was not made in a cookie cutter fashion within an industrial assembly line. Baking is a science but it also is a delicate balance with heat and time. I was eager to tear the croissant apart to reveal its inner structure. The croissant immediately exploded in my hands when I was pulling it apart. Flaky pieces were flying as far as 1 foot away – needed to do some clean-up afterwards. Soft inner layers were revealed and the butter aroma was released. It passed the ‘explosion test’, and the aroma test. Here come the taste test – rich mouth feel from the butter and very soft inner texture. I like this style of croissant as I am not a fan of the super crispy crust. This was a very good butter croissant.Lastly – the Canelé. I have only had one great Canelé in Vancouver. This Canelé from Pourquoi Pas is also very good. Crispy outer crust, soft inner texture but not overly sweet (do not misunderstand – Canelé is full of sugar). This one from Pourquoi was not super sweet like some I had. Very nice.I shall return to sample more of their offering.

Love this place! I haven’t tried everything on the menu yet but if the ones I’ve tried, my favourites are the French onion pull apart, original croissant, and apple crumble panna cotta.I appreciate how most desserts aren’t too sweet - the sweetness doesn’t overpower other flavours. The pistachio cardamom swirl was too sweet for me, but the mango coconut cake and apple crumble panna cotta were perfect!Still have a couple things sitting in the fridge waiting to be tried.
