The Midwives Collective

It was my first experience contacting to get a midwife to help with the support of my second pregnancy. Unfortunately it has left a sour taste in my mouth. The application process was detailed so they knew of my health issues coming in, to only book me a zoom appointment, have me again tell my life history on my health issues for 25 minutes and then to only decline my care because I am too high risk, for them to want to deal with me.Thank you for such a great first time experience with such an insensitive response, knowingly I have specialists and a GP. The midwife advised me to get a GP *massive eye roll* or contact a doula. I'm definitely not happen and would NOT recommend if you have any health conditions. Waste of energy and time.

Carrie is very professional and knowledgeable! I had a long labour in the hospital and she supports me by my side with patience and love. It will be a blessing if you can have her. Thank you Midwives Collective.

I had a really positive experience with The Midwives Collective, and my team of caring midwives: Ilana, Aly, Andrea, and Chloe. Julia does a great job of making everyone feel welcome in the office too. I had a beautiful planned home birth and felt very much supported by my team during the birth, and grateful for their presence and skills. Whenever I had questions or concerns during my prenatal and postnatal care, the midwives listened carefully and always responded in a way that showed that they really heard me (and didn't have their own agendas). I felt supported in my choices. We are very fortunate in BC to have Midwifery care integrated into the health care system. Midwives do such important work, caring for women and pregnant people, and their babies. The midwives also provided care to me throughout 2 other pregnancies in which I had early pregnancy losses, and I was grateful for their care in those tender times too. The Midwives Collective are a wonderful team of caring professionals! I highly recommend this team to anyone I know who is pregnant.

So far so good, I've had an excellent experience with the midwives in the office, have to say Ally is absolutely amazing and very warm and welcoming! Got to learn the gender of my baby today and they recently stayed late at the office so I could quickly come in and touch base, I felt like a priority! 10/10! Would recommend them if you're looking to have a positive experience midwives collective is the place to be!

I had two amazing experiences with the TMC team. The best care provider I could have chosen ever. All team is so friendly and supportive, our family is truly grateful for having your team delivering our baby girls.THANK YOU ALL

Sarah and Ilana were our midwives throughout my pregnancy and Ilana and Andrea attended the birth of our son. The care I received was excellent. The atmosphere was super supportive- always time for lots of questions and discussions. We always felt valued, supported and respected. They provided excellent care during labor with calm reassurance throughout our home birth. Ilana’s postpartum care was wonderful too- checking in and being a lovely presence in those early days- and visiting at home- what a fantastic service for families. And...Julia at the front desk was always helpful and kind. We miss them all already!!

Until I hear otherwise. This place may have kindness towards patients they are treating, but when It comes to support in finding a OB when your blood work comes back slightly off. I get that they can't continue to treat due to possible complications, but they are also responsible for your well-being and support finding a OB. This place did the opposite. Sent my other half off to find her own OB, with no resources or help. It wasn't until we both sent in complaints about their unprofessionalism did they respond, ONCE! but none of what was said, addressed how we were treated. I Do NOT recommend. Unprofessional and abandoning, they do not care about mental health of pregnant women.EDIT* The midwives collective ended up reaching out after they saw the review and gave a great effort to help us find a OB, also the lady whom was at fault for how she handled it, did offer to have a talk and apologize. thank you for the quick turn around midwives. I would move my rating to a 3.5 but will put 4 because it wasn't the collective it was more one individual , thank you for the effort** hope this was a learning experience for everyone :)

We had a fantastic experience with The Midwives Collective. Our team (Andrea, Kelsey, Chloe, Ilana, and student midwife Mary) were incredibly responsive throughout pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum. They all practiced with compassion and had no hidden agenda. We always felt heard, and each concern or question we had was promptly handled. Julia, who manages the clinic, is also amazing!Our birth didn’t quite go as planned but we trusted our midwives and always felt safe with them, so much so that I look back fondly on what could have been a traumatic experience. Thank you so much to the wonderful team for bringing our boy into this world. We can’t recommend them enough!

Andrea is a fantastic midwife and I highly recommend her! I'm extremely grateful to have received care from someone so knowledgeable, compassionate and warm. Her tactfulness and forward-looking, common sense approach always made me feel comfortable, heard and prepared for any path ahead. She's absolutely wonderful.

We had an excellent experience with our team: Andrea, Chloe, Ilana, Kelsey and Allie. They were all extremely professional and kind. It’s hard to say goodbye. Julia is also an excellent professional. Thankful for our journey with them and would highly recommend without any doubt.
