Misty Ridge Retreat B and B

I attended a retreat this past weekend at Misty Ridge B & B and it was nothing short of absolutely incredible. The hosts were so gracious, took care of us, were great company during down time & even assisted in some of our work. They're absolutely incredible, their home is beautiful, comfortable and the perfect place to hold a retreat let alone spend a few days getting away. The property has walking trails, and the views are breathtaking.

My husband and I had our Wedding at Kathryn and Allen's property on July 31, 2021. Due to the pandemic, we were forced to postpone,from last year and Kathryn and Allen made this very easy for us. This was much appreciated, due to the stress of having to reschedule all of our vendors.Everything turned out so perfectly, and so beautiful. The flowers, landscape, scenery, and wildlife are something we don't often see living in the city. We couldn't have had the wedding of our dreams, without Misty Ridge Retreat B&B.Kathryn and Allen worked with us at different times throughout the planning process to figure out where to place tents, where to have the ceremony, where to put the dance floor, etc. They allowed us to use one of there own tents, so we didn't have to rent an additional one through the rental company. In addition, our MC did not have a necessary cord for the microphone, and Allen very kindly lent us one of his own.We had our ceremony on Turtle Hill, which is the most romantic place to be. The view is breathtaking. There is an alter on Turtle Hill, and our florist simply added florals and greenery. This created the most magical place to be and we feel honoured that this is where we were able to commit our lives to each other.Unknowingly, Kathryn and Allen planted sweet peas at the alter, which are very close to our hearts. We were so pleasantly surprised with their thoughtfulness.The wedding party rented out all the Bed and Breakfast rooms and the tiny home, which were stunningly beautiful. Both my husband and myself were able to get ready in separate rooms with our Groomsmen and Bridesmaids, respectively. Before we went to bed, the wedding party spent some time in the hot tub and reflected on how perfect everything turned out. The next morning, we ate the most delicious homemade breakfast!We are so thankful for Kathryn and Allen's generosity, and would recommend Misty Ridge Retreat B&B 10/10 times if your travelling, need a night a way from the city, or need a beautiful space to wed the love of your life.We couldn't have asked for a better outcome, and are so happy we choose Misty Ridge Retreat to host our Wedding.

Misty Ridge is an absolute paradise! Nestled in the rolling foothills, it has all the qualities of being in the country, and only a short drive from Calgary. Al and Kathryn are the most amazing and accommodating hosts, who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was nothing short of perfect! The stunning views, modern rooms, star-gazing from the hot tub, and the best ginger snaps on earth, were only a few of the many highlights of our stay, we even saw some elk crossing through the property!

Misty Ridge was the perfect venue for our small wedding! Allen and Kathryn were gracious hosts who made every effort to make our family feel at home and create the right vibe for our special day. The venue features very comfortable themed rooms (nice beds!), spa-like bathrooms, absolutely stunning scenery and walking trails, an abundance of outdoor gathering spaces, and the truly magical “Turtle Hill” where our ceremony was held. Allen and Kathryn bring a very special energy to the property, and also make the best breakfasts ever! We are so grateful to them for hosting us, and look forward to staying at their BnB again soon.

It was an absolute pleasure to have stumbled upon this little gem of a B&B. Located just outside of Calgary, Misty Ridge is perfectly nestled in the foothills, giving it a country style vibe that invites you to relax and stay a while.It is very evident that the host's put a lot of love and energy into making sure that they have created something that is so much more than a B&B. Kathryn and Allen have figured out the perfect recipe resulting in a place of Zen, that is inviting, cozy, relaxing and energizing all at the same time.If you are an early riser or a night owl, watching the sun rise and set on top of Turtle Hill is a must. Beware the Enchanted Forest! As well, make sure you know the secret handshake to the treehouse or you will have a hard time getting into the establishment... Either ask Misty or Magic to put you on the guest list. They are also wonderful little escorts, protecting you from all peril as you trek the 3 kilometers of paths while you are looking for the rare and endangered monkeys.The amenities through out the property are superior than any hotel, the bedding... I hope you are tired and weary as you will drift into your sleep on the therapeutic, adjustable beds. Hot tub you ask? no problem! especially if you've been on a motorcycle for a long ride....How about breakfast? it is a Bed and Breakfast after all... We were lucky to spend 3 nights at Misty Ridge. Every morning, breakfast was delicious and beautiful. I felt guilty ruining the perfectly plated masterpiece placed before me to devour on the deck with views of the mountains, the city scape and Turtle Hill. If sugar in your coffee is not your thing, than ask Opa about the locally sourced honey. You will not regret it.

I went for a retreat/workshop led by Allen & Kathryn Kessler, the hosts and owners of Misty Ridge Retreat B&B. Misty Ridge is located in the rolling foothills a bit southwest of Calgary and is a fantastic place to connect with nature. The bedrooms are sizeable (bigger than some hotel/motel rooms I've stayed in!) and have very comfortable beds which are adjustable by remote control. The dining room features large windows that offer a view of the foothills and wildlife. It's a fantastic place to relax.The workshop was excellent and well-led. I'm still processing what I've learned.

I’ve stayed at Misty Ridge numerous times. Kathryn and Allen are very friendly and attentive hosts. The rooms are very clean and breakfast was always delicious. I highly recommend staying at Misty Ridge.Deborah

After 4 visits to Misty Ridge it feels more like a second home! Kathryn and Allen are amazing human beings and generous welcoming hosts. Pictures can't do justice to the gorgeous view through the enormous windows. I also loved taking walks around the acreage. Thank you for making our stays so magical.

I recently led a retreat for 14 womxn at the Misty Ridge Retreat B & B. The beautiful outdoor scenery and the space they created for our yoga Practices were perfect for our group. Kathryn provided delicious morning meals that accommodated our various food allergies and it was evident that much care had gone into insuring that our retreat was a safe and positive experience. The on-site accommodation is comfortable, clean and beautiful and being in close proximity to Calgary, we were able to have students commute in to the retreat as well. This was a perfect setting, well enough removed from the city to properly relax but we'll within reach of everything we needed! Highly recommend and already booking for next year!

This place is amazing!! it exceeded our expectations.Our room was spacious and extremely clean. We felt like we were at a spa! Comfortable beds, warm blankets, robes and slippers. Breakfast was delicious, we had eggs with bacon, hashbrowns with toast, raspberries from their property along with blueberries, grapes and cherries, AND yogurt.I really can't say enough about the host, Kathryn and Allen, we wanted to get adopted by them!
