渥京大排挡 Spicy Ho Ho

This restaurant is one of the few popping up in the city that specializes in Northern Chinese food. You won't find any of the typical Cantonese"-style foods

I went a few times before. But this time was really disappointed. The ganguofeichang ( spicy pig intestines ) was really stinky. I have tried it before here(was good) and different places too. This one was the worst ever I had. The other dish was good taste, but still has a bit smell too. I won't go again.

The food was delicious, the service could improve a little. Try the beef and the tongue, they were the best

Went with my girlfriend not really expecting much and we were both blown away.The server was incredibly patient with us in explaining the menu and what the options were. We ended up getting the spicy fried chicken and oil splash noodles not knowing what to expect and we were very happy with them. The portions were large and the price was very reasonable. We also got a bubble tea each and they were by far the best we've had in the area (also very fairly priced as well)If you aren't used to spicy food you might get blown back a little by the menu, but for us it was super satisfying.I've seen complaints about the atmosphere of the restaurant itself being unappealing but honestly it brought me right back to when I visited China a few years ago. The nostalgia felt great.The only complaint I could come up with is the menu. It's not all that accessible to English speakers (and I'm not certain there was a French menu at all). But as mentioned, the server was kind enough to help us out there so that's not really an issue

Yesterday we experienced an immense power outage so we decided to come to this restaurant and try our luck. “大排檔” is meant to open late - The restaurant was open, took credit cards for payment, and provided great service. They also managed to cook great food even during difficult times like this. The ginger onion lobster (a Cantonese dish) was spectacular compared to the ones I had in downtown Toronto. The lamb was perfect, fried to perfection. I have no complaint about this restaurant and Ottawa is lucky to have you.

Ordered grilled fish to go. Not sure the service, but the food is NOT EDIBLE! My note says no spicy or least spicy, what I got is the most spicy I’ve ever had my life! It’s extremely spicy that it tastes even bitter and my lips&tongue hurt a loooot! This is the first time as well as my last time to order food here!

The place has nice decor and great looking food. They have good bubble tea. There is a bit of a language barrier if you don't speak Mandarin. Check it out, it's worth a try

I ordered UberEats and this is very good Chinese food. Not your typical Cantonese or American Chinese food fyi.I called ahead of time to go over the dishes I wanted to order and ask about certain ingredients because I have allergies. Staff spoke English well and very friendly and professional. This might be my new favourite northern Chinese food place.It’s definitely spicy but the dishes I got weren’t a crazy level of spice. I avoided the dishes marked very spicy.I ordered:-house styled braised pork (it’s pork belly)-sliced beef and ox tongue in chili cold dish (amazing)-lamb with cumin and pepper (my favourite dish)-Bbq lamb skewers (very good I got the chilli powder on the side)-Braised eggplant (ok…wouldn’t order again)-Beef brisket in noodle soup (very good)

The food was authentic, spicy and delicious. I've been looking for a new place that offers northern Chinese cuisine since a favourite of mine closed down and this fits the bill. Will return!
