Chili Dragon Chinese Restaurant (Take Out Only)

My favourite Chinese restaurant. I love that I can actually eat here with a Gluten allergy. I’ve had no issues. They’re also very accommodating. Best Chinese food I’ve had in a long time. Definitely recommend!

Finding Chinese food is fairly easy in the LMD but finding good GF (gluten free) Chinese is hard. This is probably the only place that does it and it is really good. Would highly recommend for gf and non-gf eaters. 2 of us got 4 dishes and rice and had enough for 4 or more so definitely worth it price wise. Wish they had a Surrey location!

We got the BBQ pork lo-mein, spring rolls, and wontons. All three were pretty good.The lo-mein says crunchy noodles. To me that is double fried noodles. To them it is the crunchy, chip like noodles. She tried to explain. Like I said 5⭐ service.

For a take out only place I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered their dinner for 4 combo and it fed our family of 5 plus leftovers. Everything was hot and fresh absolutely nothing spicy which was great for my kids. The Ginger beef was crispy with a sweet sticky sauce, sometimes this dish can be a bit spicy but this one was very sweet same with the sweet and sour pork. I like that the chow main was sent in 2 separate containers one had the stir fried noodles, the other veggies and sauce so we could mix this at home it was not soggy. The fried rice was nice nothing fancy simple fried rice but did not taste old or like it had been sitting around. The spring rolls not pictured were classic deep fried rolls we got them fresh out of the fryer too hot to eat actually. Over all everything we had tasted freshly prepared to order. The only thing I will note is the food was very saucy and ran on the sweet side again this was perfect for my kids. If I was ordering here again I would go with some steamed rice because the dishes were so saucy and perhaps had a spicy dish to the order for myself.

Always reluctant to try a new Chinese restaurant based on previous experiences with bland soggy food....Being new to the area, we decided to give Chili Dragon Chinese Restaurant a try. Four dishes for takeout; portions a tad bit smaller...but WOW. Amazing! Food tasted delicious and was steaming hot....even the kids had seconds!Recommended to several others already, will be ordering again in the near future.

Worst take out of the year award goes too:Chili Dragon. We were really busy on Friday and thought we would give this place a chance. I am not one to post a really negative review, I try to be objective and fair in all my reviews... but this was truly bad. What you see in the pic is the remainder of what no one would eat after the first few bites. The honey garlic chicken was very bad...and I am not sure what it was because the texture was very weird and the pieces were shaped like a pork chop that was cubed. The chicken with vegetables was more like 3 day old soup of some kind and the sweet and sour pork tasted like it had been quickly defrosted and dunked in the current sauce then thrown in the container. Both pork's had strangely soft texture and no crispness to be found anywhere. The rice was ok, but it's hard to mess up rice. Truly a waste of $60+ as what you see went in the bin this morning. No second chances with this place...hard no put next to their phone number in my phone in case I get confused in a year and can't remember which place it was.Epically bad.

I tried the almond chicken, satay chicken, and pork wontons. The satay chicken was cooked perfectly, lean, and the peanut sauce was good. The almond chicken was good. If the batter were a little less/thinner it would have allowed the chicken to come though a bit better. The gravy was thinner than what I'm used to with almond chicken, but it was ok. I liked the pork wontons although the meat was packed tight which gave a firm texture.

Decided to give this newly opened Chinese take out place a try today. It's a great addition to the neighborhood! The portions are generous, staff nice and efficient, and prices reasonable, especially the lunch special. And of course the food was good.The chow mein was very flavorful, definitely one of the best I've tried, and the sweet and sour pork decent too. If I reeeeally had to pick at something, the sweet and sour pork leaned very slightly sour, but that's all I can think of. The thank you note with the fortune cookies and a personal note on the back were also a nice touch. :) Will definitely be back here to support this new business!

I don’t usually write reviews but today I made an exception. I ordered from there about a year ago and the food was great. I was thrilled to find gluten free Chinese food. A few days ago I ordered again. The food was terrible.I ordered sweet and sour pork and beef broccoli. The pork wasn’t crispy at all, but the meet was still super dry. The sauce was bland and tasted like a bottle of sauce from the supermarket. The beef broccoli was over cooked. The sauce was overpowering gelatinous goop and both the beef and broccoli were mushy.I don’t know what happened with the cook but the food is now almost inedible. Even if you are gluten free, don’t waste your money here.
