Really Great Place! There's so many things to do at this place... I Love the Cafeteria for lunch and dinner they're very creative with their own menus different tastes from around the world! When I had my third phone stolen I was able to go to the Carnegie to use one of their computers! You know if I didn't have the Carnegie to use one of their computers I really don't know what I would have done! So I'm very Grateful for the use of their computers it took me 3 Months to sort it out and finally was able to get a new phone! There's a gym to work out in there's all types of activities at the Carnegie... Honestly you need to go there to check it out for yourself. There's too many things to list.

I've been going there for years...the security always thinks I am someone who's not allowed in...it's kinda funny because I know everyone in the neighborhood and haven't really ever seen anyone who looks like me....but yeah...the place is well maintained and always clean and the I guess it would be the cafeteria always has good food, especially the peanut butter cookies.Sometimes I wish they'd go back to the COVID rules and hand out food outside...maybe they could do that one day a week with the bagged lunches...was Kool chillin with everyone outside instead of having to eat inside cuz of the plates and utensils. I always enjoy the old Carnegie and if for no other reason..if uve never been before...u gotta go just to experience the staircase...first vertigo trip ever...I just gotta say ...it's a place of community...the down town east side community...ever one is nice and says hi...I love east van...ain't going no where!!!

This place is a little depressing to visit. I try to avoid it at all costs. Plus there are better places to get the same services and company without the environmental issues that Hastings St offers.Still staff are nice and respectful. kudos.

It's not much of a community center ..Upside is the food they serve upstairs is actually really good you can get meals cheap. It's not full of bums because it's not free .just people on a tight budget. They do breakfast and lunch only i think. It's all surrounded by the open drug market and homeless.Unless you live nearby i don't think it makes sense to go. There's not really a gym... Just a few weights. Awful conditions outsidrt

I have used Carnegie since 2020 they have been nothing but kind and considerate. Some of the staff can be a little uptight but most of the staff are amazing. “Stacey and Alyssa have gone above and beyond for my family.”

This is an amazing old historical building that has a library with many facets they also have a gym, with great inexpensive meals meeting rooms and other things I haven't seen yet or explored. The staff at Carnegie Hall are amazing and most helpful. Carnegie Hall also has different programs running check out their monthly calendar you just might find the help or info that you're looking for.

A staple in the DTES - props to the hard working staff for making it a safe place for all, providing amazing meals for $2 each as well as a library and access to computers/printers. A go to spot to find information about activities not only that they offer at the space itself, but going on within the entire community. Everyone is treated as an equal here, highly recommend!

I went here looking for a place to get my water bottle refilled and found a cafeteria here serving discount meals. It's a nasty part of the city but this cafeteria was definitely an amazing place to eat for 5 dollars a day. (Breakfast 2.25 lunch 2.75 )

I grew up in Burnaby and went to the Carnegie Centre when it was Vancouver's only museum. They still had trolley tracks on Hastings and Main Streets. I wanted to see what it was like now and was impressed. Basketball court, gym, library, cafeteria that serves a large lunch for $2.75. i had ravioli with great tomato sauce, salad with thick balsamic type dressing, garlic bread with extra butter, and a van of Canada Dry G. Ale for $4.00!! The community center is clean, new and I was impressed, considering the location with so many homeless. I'm definitely going again for a meal.
