I have long been intrigued, no fascinated by the Rothschild name, so decided to listen to it via audio book. The narrator had an aristocratic, almost pompous accent and tone, which added to the intrigue.The book became more disappointing as I read, as the family was portrayed (rightly) as pompous, entitled and extremely self-serving. I ended up listening until the end, fortunately as progressive generations seemed more entitled which led to self-destructive behaviour.Do they remain as rich and powerful as history suggests? That's a good question. This book doesn't provide an answer.
