Halibut House Fish and Chips
Decent place for fish and chips - more of a fast-food style restaurant so don't expect high quality food or service. The fried fish has been good every time we have come here and is the only reason we come back. However, the grilled fish - absolutely dry and tasteless and we will probably never order again. The sides and appetizers are just okay to slightly disappointing.Would recommend to come on Sundays, Monday, or Wednesdays when they have deals. Full price would only be worth it if the sides were as good as the fried fish.

Halibut House Fish and Chips
My wife and I visited the Halibut House on Highland for the first time as we had a previous positive experience at their St. Thomas restaurant. We were there Monday at 12:30 and wonderfully served by Patti. We both had the $10 Sunday and Monday Fish & Chip special. I chose the larger size haddock and my wife had the halibut (only available as a special in March). Both meals were served promptly and hot, especially the excellent fries. We both enjoy their thin batter on the fish. Both pieces of fish were superb as was the cole slaw. The entire meal was a 10++ and we will definitely return again. Extremely reasonably priced. The restaurant is clean and quiet and importantly the single washroom was very clean. Highly recommended. About 6-7 other couples there and take out orders were steady too.

Halibut House Fish and Chips
First time trying Halibut House. The portion size was massive. Plenty of chips underneath a large pc of fish. My family said the battered fish was amazing. Not greasy at all. Batter was nicely cooked and not heavy or doughy. My grilled fish was to die for! Nicely seasoned with garlic butter & cooked to perfection. Trying to find a restaurant that does grilled fish is really hard. I usually go without. Now I’m loving that I can actually enjoy the meal with my family. We will be back for sure! I think 2 ppl could easily share a chip portion and their own fish and still be full. Lots of tartar sauce & malt & white vinegar options came also. This is going to be our future go to restaurant for quality rich & chips!!!

Halibut House Fish and Chips
Very friendly staff. I like how she treated us with a friendly smile. I was new to this country and don't know what to order except I know I want fish and Chips. She helped us to select. Food was little bit costly, not too much. But I love the food. Even fries was too much in one portion. 1 portion was enough for me and my wife.

Good place for breakfast. Well done meals, tasty and at a reasonable price The restaurant is nice, and clean and the server was very good at her job.On June 30th 2023 we got takeout: two dinners of haddock fish and chips in one of the sole fish and chips window specialsThe fries were very good but the haddock was quite dry and tough - I would not try this again unless I was eating in and could send it back. The cheaper sole was surprisingly good.

We dropped in last night just before closing to pick up fish and chips. We purchased the family pack of halibut and were pleasntly surprised with the portion size, quality, freshness, great service and finally the taste! Wow, we'll be soon!

Halibut House Fish and Chips
The food serving was appropriate and the taste was good. It needed a pinch of salt, but other than that the dish was well made. While I waited in the restaurant for about 15 mins to pick up my food. A new girl was training. I honestly did not like the way the restaurant's manager was carrying out the training with the new employee. The manager was treating this girl in a diminishing way. I felt uncomfortable watching this. And I felt bad for the girl training as she wasn't treated with respect. I could see the anxiety and the pressure the new girl was being put under. The restaurant was not even busy that day. So there was no need to yell out at the employee to hurry up, do this, and do that now. The management team needs to understand that new team members take longer to get things rolling. But that does not mean they have to be disrespected because management knows they need the job. This was a real turn-off for me. It was my first time ordering from this place. But I did not like how employees were treated.
