The store lied about having online order ready for pick up.I received notification that my order is ready to pick-up. I went to the store and tried the green bins; my order wasn't there. I went to customer services and had to wait in line for 15 minutes. Customer service had to call the warehouse and 15 minutes later someone showed up with my item. So, what was supposed to be a quick pick-up of online order turned into wasted half an hour.

I travelled to pick up a pig that was butchered and I was sent from my work. I showed up to Canadian tire looking for coolers and had a lovely young gentleman and an extremely sweet lady help me with this situation I was in. They offered advice and were so kind to me in assisting me and trying to ensure I could return, or come back, or what not, and offered advice. This was so kind of them to help a solo girl out from out of town. You guys rock. I'll always remember Castlegar for the sweet employees at Canadian tire!

It's a great little store if you know what you need and check the app before hand. Be it automotive to sports I found almost everything I needed. Being a ice hockey goalie I wasn't expecting to find anything past sticks. Would really like it if they stocked extra sweatbands, maybe toe ties and hardware kits if they had the room.

1 star because u can't do zero. Asked the person in party section the price of 15 balloons and the number 16 with helium was told I don't know. I asked if it was possible to look up or request assistance. Big sigh was told that it would take 45 mins to do the balloons and that the balloons would require an additional chemical other than helium. All before even getting to where she would look up the price. Almost like she was trying to talk me out of getting balloons. The person seemed so put out I actually asked if I was bothering them to which she replied she is the only person in party section. I was the only person asking a question. I was not taking her away from filling orders just stocking. Finally told over 100$. I went to Safeway floral section. The young lady there told me the price when I asked and it was half of what Canadian tire charges.

Dude, you gotta check out this Canadian Tire store. It's got everything! Auto shop? Check. Marks work warehouse? Check. Party store? Check. And that's just the beginning. Need some tape? They got it. Want a kayak? They got that too. I mean, what more could you ask for? Sure, it's not the fanciest place in town, but it's got everything you need and then some. Trust me, I've been there more times than I can count.

Our family has tried to do our part of encouraging businesses to offer products not made in China. Not only do we not believe in many policies that they carry, we also like to support local and would like to strengthen other countries.Upon brining our concerns to the cashiers in the front, we were happy to hear that they were brining up a shift manager to hear our concerns. I took my 4 year old to look around as he was getting bored, came around the corner after 5 minutes to see my father walking to the exit. The manager and 3 cashiers working this evening must’ve thought I had left the store as when I was approaching the returns area, they were heckling us.What an unprofessional environment that does not support the customers concerns.

I do not like to leave bad reviews, I have a conscience and it actually bothers me to criticize others. But being a 20 time super host, member of the chamber of commerce and a business owner myself, sometimes it’s necessary to warn others of shady business practices and rude employees.never anywhere have I encountered such rude and incompetent employees or such a greedy business as Canadian tire in Castlegar.I bought a chainsaw there, they claimed they couldn’t get the replacement chain for it, I bought a tile cutter, they say they don’t make enough money on replacement blades to sell them! They claimed to have spoken to the owner to carry them, but he says it’s not worth it to carry the parts that need replaced frequently, not enough money in it he said. When I owned a hobby shop or worked in a number of retail positions, we always carried important backup parts because you should!Wether or not it makes you more money, customer service and satisfaction matter.I bought a orbital sander, they don’t carry replacement pads. You get the point, they do not back or carry replacements for many things they sell, then treat you like a bad customer when you are surprised their business is so bad.I was directly told they don’t get paid enough to be friendly and they get no training.Funny, I meet friendly employees all the time who make minimum wage!I have never based how I treat or serve people by how much I’m being paid, where do you find these people?Good thing I’m extremely helpful and friendly, because I’m reviewed by every guest, and am one of the top rated hosts in Canada, so I know how to treat my customers. The lady at the customer service desk just scowled and would not even look at me as I tried to get replacement blades for the saw I bought, she should be ashamed of herself to be behind a customer service desk.I could go on and on with the rude treatment I have received at the hands of these employees. Then I went to trail Canadian tire, they carried in stock all the things that the Castlegar store was to greedy to carry as a service to customers, and the employees were friendly!A few of the Castlegar employees are also friendly, even though I’m sure they are paid the same.Honestly I’m friendly to everyone I meet who isn’t rude to me, even when I’m not being paid at all! This business is the very definition of “ buyer beware” and I’m uncomfortable even walking into the store, if you can , go to trail Canadian tire.
