Community Midwives of Halton

I had the pleasure of working with Team 4 for the second time this past summer. Joanna, Jen and student Aisha were knowledgeable, caring and supportive in all of my prenatal visits. We even had a home visit when I was recovering from Covid late in the third trimester. They listened to my concerns about using an epidural after my first birth, and with their guidance, I was able to labour without it for my second and third babies. During prenatal visits, we reviewed US reports and any other concerns (including a visit to Mt Sinai recommended due to certain factors found on an early US). The fact that this midwife clinic works so closely with other medical professionals made me feel even more confident in the whole pregnancy experience.I appreciated all of the attention provided during labour as Joanna and another midwife were by my side 90% of the time. We were able to induce naturally at the hospital and talked through the risks they found while monitoring my contractions. I felt empowered the entire time.Right after birth, they were so attentive to me (not just baby), which was so comforting, as I felt like I'd been through a train wreck. The follow up visits at the hospital and at home were also so much more convenient than trekking out to the doctors office. Both my spouse and I were so grateful to just stay at home and enjoy our new addition.I would highly recommend to anyone with a low risk pregnancy.

Kim and the team of Midwives were all amazing! I appreciate how patient, gentle, calm, personable, friendly and encouraging they were during my long labor. They clearly explained my options and helped me make informed decisions. They made me feel comfortable, safe and confident the whole time. Kim went above and beyond to ensure I was calm and comfortable. Her passion and expertise is outstanding! I am so grateful that she did what needed to be done to keep me and my baby safe. My heart is so full of gratitude that I got to have her on my support team. All the women who are lucky enough to have Kim as their Midwife are truly blessed. I have learned so much from Kim and my birth experience.

Team 5 was my saving grace across my pregnancy and delivery. They always helped put my mind at ease and supported me.We ended up having an elective c section last minute and the team was so so supportive and we were there for me during the delivery. The support they gave to me when I decided to go down the c-section route was everything I needed - not once did I feel judged or did they try to convince me otherwise. They were my support team and wanted to support what I felt I needed - their understanding, kindness, professionalism, and care will be something I will always remember. I always remember someone telling me that it’s not what someone says to you that will have the greatest impact necessarily but how they made you feel and I can wholeheartedly say team 5 made me feel comfortable, cared for, safe, and confident as a pregnant mama. I will forever be thankful for them ❤️

I would highly recommend Community Midwives of Halton to anyone expecting.I was seen by team 4 (Jen, Joanna and Aisha) and they were so supportive throughout my entire pregnancy. Having a high risk pregnancy and a history of pregnancy loss, the team was always happy to answer any of my questions (no matter how small and at any hour of the day) and monitor baby if I was ever concerned.Jen and Aisha were there for me for my entire labour (nearly 20 hours), and while I ultimately required a cesarean, the entire team visited me at home as I recovered and made sure baby was doing well.The team was incredibly knowledgeable and kind and I hope to be in their care for future pregnancies.

I don't know where to start in finding the words on how to thank my team of midwives ! Team 2 (Kiran, Mary & Debra) this being my first pregnancy I didn't know what to expect but my experience surpassed my expectations. It was absolutely wonderful from beginning to end, to the care I received to every question I had being answered and to every precaution that was taken 'just in case'. My aim was to have a more personal experience and create a relationship with the people delivering my baby and it was just that! They respected every choice and unsurness I had and allowed me to think and make the decisions on my own and informed me of everything beforehand. I loved my experience with the midwives and hope that anyone looking for their first time goes in with an open mind and heart to learn and enjoy the process. Thank you again<3

Would recommend to anyone that wants a personal midwife experience. They felt more like my sisters than a professional doing their job! So supportive and knowledgeable. There wasn’t a question they couldn’t answer. A huge thank you to the midwives of halton for everything you guys do everyday!

Absolutely wonderful experience. Kiran and Lexie were amazing during labour with my wife. Went so smoothly. Also appreciate how knowledgeable and thorough they are with our baby’s care/follow up.100% would recommend the midwives of Halton!!

I had a great experience with Midwives of Halton, I was with Team 1 Jocelyn and Victoria were my midwives, no words to express how well they took care of me throughout my pregnancy. I am extremely satisfied with the care I received. They are very professional, compassionate, know what they are doing, always listen to your concerns. I felt like home with my midwives while giving birth. Thank you so much.

I cannot say enough positive things about our experience with Community Midwives of Halton. I was on team two and Mary helped deliver my daughter and care for us postpartum along with Debra. They are all so kind, compassionate and knowledgeable and go the extra mile to make you and baby feel well taken care of. Mary even came to our home to take our daughters blood and drop it off at the hospital after we were released so we didn’t have to go back. I recommend the midwives for every pregnant person!

They were nothing but supportive. I love Joanna and Wendy.The reason that I only gave 4 stars is that one of the midwives ( neither one of the ones I mentioned above) kept on mentioning Here in Canada our health care is blah blah "What do you mean by " here in Canada?" Did thay midwife assumed I'm some kind of a naive person because I am not white?"
