Scott Pollard Memorial Trail

The view is nice. However, it is over a km mostly up hill. One bench and over half the trail you have to walk off trail through the woods to avoid muck. The rails they have installed are falling off and some points unsure where to walk. More signage should be posted.

I have not hiked this trail in 20+ years - since before it was a named memorial.And when I hiked it, calling it a hiking trail was generous. I was scrabbling at points.The view however... made every single step worth it - ten thousand times over. I wish I still had those sunset pics to scan & upload. I've circumnavigated this globe maybe 4 times. The view is as beautiful as anything I've ever seen. This includes the beaches of Tahiti, the high Arctic, the women of ... well, now I digress.Ask me sometime about the trip down after those sunset pics. In the days before headlamps were commonplace. I often wonder how I made it out of my misspent youth ...

Fairly easy trail. Steep climb up for the first half. Less of an incline after that but more damp and muddy. Not marked the best in some areas.

Good climb up the mountain. If it has rained, be prepared for lots of mud and swampy areas. Magnificent views from the top!
