Highly recommended. We are a small self run housing cooperative with 9 houses in Halifax. We had 12 Chimney flues cleaned over a 6 week period. Margaret in the office assisted me in creating a schedule that worked for our members and Black Magik. Several times we had to request different dates for some of our members which went smoothly because we gave Black Magik proper notice. The gentleman that arrived was efficient and helpful. I watched him clean several of our flues and he was generous with his knowledge. Margaret in the office always returned my phone calls and emails ….sometimes even contacting me on a Sunday ….unbelievable.We are a non profit housing coop and the cost to clean our flues was extremely reasonable.Charlotte Rogers

In a time where it seems everyone needs to cheat their fellow man to get ahead and any professional you hire costs you your first born, I felt very lucky to have stumbled across Black Magic. I have hired other companies in the past for repairs and cleaning on chimneys and was always less than impressed at the professionalism and value. This time I went with Black Magic and I can honestly say it was the most straight forward and efficient professional work I have hired in a long while. Everything was arranged over the phone and the lady I spoke with was friendly and knowledgable. Work got done quickly, was good quality and at a reasonable cost to boot. (Where do you find that nowadays). Communication was also stellar and I knew exactly when they were coming to do the work and how long it should take. Can't say enough good things to be honest. Just thought I would share my great experience with you all since it's so hard to get good value and straightforward, honest work

I highly recommend this team, they are professional, friendly and knowledgeable. We have been a customer of Black Magik Chimney Sweeps for 13 years. Over this period, we have hired them to inspect and clean the chimney and flue, install rain cap and stainless steel lining, and replace a wood stove. They have always been prompt to return calls, connect with us prior to arrival and try their best to provide service in a timely manner. Of course, if we called in November to get the chimney serviced within the week, that would not happen, just as if you wait until the first snow to get the snow tires installed on your car -- you are bound to wait. A little planning can take you a long way and reduce wait-time related frustration. Again, I recommend.

We first used Black Magik at the beginning of the winter. The gentleman that showed up was very professional and thorough. The pricing was very reasonable.Last year, a different company gave us a quote to repair our chimney. The price was outrageous. We found out that Black Magik does chimney repairs so we decided to get a quote from them. They gave us an amazing price to completely REBUILD our chimney, as well as add a liner and attach caps.Luke was very professional and honest. He and his colleague showed up and worked hard every day. We are very happy with the finished product!The ladies in the office are such a pleasure to deal with. We mainly dealt with Margaret, but if we spoke to anyone else they were always extremely polite and helpful.We would recommend this company to anyone who needs chimney work. They are HONEST, hard working and reasonably priced. We will continue to call them whenever we need our chimney cleaned and are happy that we were able to count on them to rebuild our chimney.

I have used Black Chimney for years and they are incredibly reliable. They show up on time, give friendly reminder calls, are very respectful of my home to not leave a trace of their visit behind, and are very nice and professional. Both office based staff and chimney sweepers. Great job!

I had a terrific experience with Black Magik! We just moved into our first home with a fireplace, and they not only made us feel comfortable that everything was in tip-top condition, but also gave lots of helpful tips and hints.Very professional, thorough, and friendly. They actually went above and beyond and helped me order (and deliver & install!) a blower for my fireplace insert, so now we are really reaping the benefits of the wood heat.I will definitely call them again for future chimney sweeps!

I remember them from more than 4 or 5 years ago and I'm happy we switched to someone else. Pricey maintenance. Ridiculous management of chimney caps. They kept falling off and they kept coming back charging big bucks. I had a phone conversation with a lady who was very unprofessional. That was the end of it.

I’ve used Black Magic for 5 years now, and have always found the job to be done well, with no mess or issues at all. The one year I was still having issues with smoke, they helped me identify the issue, and solved it very quickly for a reasonable price. Highly recommend!

The female customer service representative was appallingly unprofessional. If it is Margaret/part owner she should be ashamed. There are wonderful alternatives and the market is far from cornered. Do yourself a favour and pick a different company to deal with. They are also the highest priced and that does not indicate quality. Pick a different chimney cleaning company.

Black Magic was quick to respond and booked an appointment quickly. Technician and office staff were both professional and pleasant. Highly recommend.
