David Richardson Memorial Disc Golf Park

Beautiful course. Technical with some wide open blaster holes. Holes are beautifully integrated with the landscape. Be careful though as it is easy to lose a disc in the tall grass. The best course in perhaps all of Western Canada.

I really enjoyed this course. Very challenging with lots of elevation changes. The wind was pretty cray that day so we skipped a few of the really open holes. Really want to go back here in the spring/early summer.

Pros: Nice layout with a good mix of long and short holes and some nice technical hole placements. Long and short tee boxes, they are astroturf and of aCons: There is some pretty thick and wild bush there, prepare to hunt. I think the wind will often be quite strong and hard to play in.The course is still rough overall but there is a lot of potential.

Great course overall. There are definitely 4-5 tough holes mostly due to windy conditions; you will find the high elevation exacerbates any wind.Grooming of the course has been sub-par the past few years, but that “may have been due to transition of the park to city ownership(hearsay)”. I always wear pants here. They also have a gazebo and some picnic tables if you want to pack a lunch. Honestly I want to give 3-4 stars for grooming (tall grass, thistles, wetland terrain, fire swamp, ROUSes ect.), but I have also seen a lot of work done so I personally feel that this has been identified and they are really working on improving things.If you are ever looking for comrades I recommend trying the play city app as they have a category for disc golf.Pro tip: on a quiet day I’ll often park by the Starbucks and walk due south to start at hole 7. This saves you a lengthy walk to the start from the parking lot and you can enjoy a coffee whilst smashing chains.Have fun!

Great news! They finally got in to mow the fairways. If you’re good at placing your shots, no more lost discs!

Great disc golf course with multiple layouts and pin positions making it replayable. I will caution you though, the wind will take your discs on a ride in some of the ridge holes. Definitely a good course for big arms. Also make sure you know what basket you are throwing at, at times it appears that you are shooting for one basket when you are really going for another.

Unbelievable park, I am an avid disc golfer and this is one of the best courses in Calgary. With a mix of long holes, and short but technical holes. This course is a great time, expect the full 18 holes to take between 2 to 2.5 hours. Take pants though as the rough is just that, with thistles and tick prickly bushes it can be quite a pain to retrieve lost discs in this park. But pants and boots make that no issue. Stay on the fairway and get that birdy! Good luck golfers.

A good, challenging course. Some enjoyable, long holes. Agreed with some of the other reviewers that this is a little more advanced and the terrain off of the fairway is punishing. Still, experienced kids 12+ should do fine here. Let's see more free courses, Calgary!! :)

Just played a round here. Wonderful course, lots of fun technical holes and some real long bombs too. Highly recommend stopping by if you like disc golf.
