Maffeo Salon and Day Spa

I had such a great experience at Maffeo Salon as a whole but specifically with Franciele. I got blonde highlights and a cut. I have a lot of hair to deal with and she did a fantastic job, the color is beautiful and the cut is exactly what I wanted! I would highly recommend her for any of your hair needs :)

Super impressed with the salon and the overall atmosphere of it! I had a great experience with Quinn and felt listened to and respected, and I left the salon feeling beautiful and educated about my hair. The stylists here seem passionate about what they do and it reflects in their work :)

I am very picky about my hair, I NEED a real artist to understand how I like to have it. This is the only place I go. The service is exemplary, the atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing and comfortable, and all the staff member are super friendly.First and top recommendation to anyone

First time going to this salon and I am so glad I did, went there to get my bridesmaid hair done for my best friends wedding and the experience was fantastic, everyone was so kind and the atmosphere makes you feel very comfortable! This will be my new place to go for my hair cuts!

It's okay BUT I sure miss Gina! She was always very attentive. My current stylist missed coloring some of my roots and it always feels like working against resistance. There's no flow here.

CURLY GIRLS REJOICE!!I went to Maffeo Salon today for a haircut. I was terrified to say the least as I have had terrible experiences in the past with hairstylists.So much so that I hadn’t been in for a cut in years. It didn’t help that in Nanaimo there is very few salons that boasted the ability to cut curls.Krysta was my stylist and is AMAZING!!!She took the time to listen to my concerns and what I really wanted.She made me feel at ease and did such an amazing job, walking me through each step and ensuring I could recreate the final product at home.I highly recommend her and I will definitely be back!I feel so relieved and blessed that I have finally found someone who can cut my curls!

I went awhile back and asked for a cool toned balayage. I showed several pictures of what I wanted and specifically asked that all the red in my hair be removed/covered, even if they couldn't get it to a balayage and just dye it to a mushroom brown. I also specified that I wanted my roots to be as close to my natural colour (medium/light brown) as possible so I could grow out my hair. I ended up with cool toned blonde highlights (which would have looked great if the tips were done that colour like I asked but instead looked like a bunch of greys), black lowlights, black roots, and the rest of my hair between was the same red I walked in with. It made me look 10 years older. I wasn't able to get it fixed because they had a small window when I could go it and I had the same days off as the days they were closed. I ended up dying my hair greenish blue to offset the red and make the highlights not look like greys, and it ended up looking quite nice that way. I also have a very noticable root line coming in which I'm stuck with. Gave two starts instead of one because the girls were nice.

As a new customer, Brian and his team made me feel very welcome. Not everyone can cut curly hair, but Brian did a fantastic job. Rebooked straight awa for my next appointment, next time will be a cut and colour Thank you.

Beware of their pricing as it seems fluid. I was charged $20 more than their advertised price on their website for the unwind package. When I questioned it they said their website is “under maintenance” and prices have gone up. I don’t think the price change should go into effect until the advertised price is accurate and the customers are aware of the price change before the appointment. I felt ripped off. Also, I was disappointed as this is the only spa I’ve been to that doesn’t have massage chairs at the pedicure stations. The staff were lovely, but I wouldn’t return.
