Barrie Kempettes Gymnastics Club

Kids love this place and parents can chill out on the second floor and watch the lessons. Coaches are great.

Have 2 young girls in the program. Nice clean facility. Would love to see the staff control the younger ones a little better so parents don't have to jump in. Overall great experience!

My daughter is really enjoying the mid day home school program. A special thank you to the Kempettes staff for putting this on. The coaches are great and my daughter us learning a lot. I would highly recommend!

The program for toddlers is a complete waste of money. They also take forever to respond to emails. I have been trying to withdraw my son, sent an email about it 4 days ago and still haven’t heard anything back. I’ve also left a voicemail now so I’m hoping they get back to me. Seriously do NOT recommend their toddler programs and I am utterly disappointed in their customer service.

Didn't even make off the web page, this facility attempt to charge more in administration fees and mandatory fundraising fees than the class itself. Insane hidden costs. No thank you!!!

Absolutely fantastic time for my son's birthday party! He and the children and their parents all had a good go. Michelle and Tammy were wonderful and kept all the kids in check while making sure they had tonnes of fun. Cannot recommend enough!

My kids did 2 sessions back to back, Rec program. I was so disappointed as the instructor was hungover during one session and didn’t lift a finger to assist the kids. This type of behaviour continued the entire time my kids went there. Instructors not paying attention or unwilling to help the kids even when asked to do so directly. I was quite surprised. I found it to be unsafe. Even after several parents including myself voiced our concern about lack of coaching and safety issues, nothing was done. Needless to say, we will not return to Barrie kempettes.

Unfortunately we did not have a positive experience at Kempettes. Our 3 year old was in the preschool program and absolutely loved going, she was sometimes distracted and needed redirection to rejoin the group. She is autistic however is able to fully participate and express her needs verbally, she is just sometimes easily distracted. On one of the last classes I felt like they were getting a little frustrated with her so I mentioned to the coach that she is autistic and can need redirection to which I got the response “well you never wrote that in her medical forms”. I was really taken aback by this comment - she was fully participating and her neurotype is quite frankly no one’s business, I was simply trying to explain her need for redirection (she is also 3!!). Also the medical forms ask for medical conditions, autism is not a medical condition and there were no questions about disabilities. This comment and her tone in general felt very very exclusionary. My husband and I both left feeling very dejected and sad for her as she loved gymnastics but we cannot in good faith return. We will hopefully be going elsewhere where she can crush her gymnastics goals and not need to fit into a box.

My 5 yr old is tall for her age. During class the instructor would help the smaller kids and expect mine to know already. Then she would be yelled at instead of taught. My child would leave class in tears.

I have been taking my children to Barrie Kempettes for close to 2 yrs, and we love the classes! The weekly sessions develop confidence, coordination, listening skills, and gymnastic skills. Large main gym! Tammy & Ashlyn have been excellent, and all staff are friendly.
