Took the P.I course through their website and it was very informative and helpful. I was also pleasantly surprised with how quick they respond to your e-mails whenever you have any questions or concerns, even late in the evening!

The course was very educational and prepared me for the Ontario Provincial P.I testing. Whitney was very supportive and answered all my questions. She even phoned me for a few assignments, after I received my License. I really enjoyed the 24 hours course access and study at my own schedule. Thanks Smith Investigations.

My emails were answered every single time, even when there was no updates to give me, but I was assured there was someone on the on end. I would strongly recommend this agency for your needs, you will not regret it.

From when I first contacted Whitney to when the issue was resolved was less than 48 hours.I was hesitant when I reached out as I have never dealt with a PI before and my request was pretty challenging. The process of taking the PI course was painless and the course was relatively plain sailing. I completed the course in about 10 days as I fitted it in between my other activities and commitments. You could probably complete it in only 3 or 4 days if you compressed and really focussed.All in all, I'd def recommend this course if you wish to become licensed as a PI or security guard.

I completed their Private Investigator training and recently passed my formal Ontario testing on the first try! Smith's training definitely provided the foundational knowledge required to enable this successful outcome.Pros:*Being all online allows one to learn at your own best determined time and pace and in the comfort of your own home.*Requiring only 50 hours to complete and if you're ambitious this can be accomplished in about 3-4 days but ultimately free to complete at whatever pace you choose.*Easy to use registration and training platform.*Comprehensive content but not spoon-fed and does require independent learning and research (which obviously are requirements for being a good PI in the first place).*The requirement to prepare a Learning Journal results in an excellent pre-testing resource and anticipate it will prove to be an excellent post-employment reference guide.*The reference and Ministry testing preparation materials offered post-training were also invaluable.Cons:Really only one and more of a suggestion really. While the online training was my preferred approach over classroom training, I would have found having even say a 1-hour dedicated session with a live instructor of great benefit. In either a group or individually, towards the end of the training, having an actual Smith PI or formal trainer available for the purposes of offering their professional insights/experiences and to answer any questions that might still linger would have been great.That said, not having this option did not prove to be detrimental to successfully passing the Ministry test but believe that even a minimal amount of direct engagement could prove invaluable and a win-win for both as Smith might also then get an early indication of which students might be most promising as a future employee or contractor!If you are thinking of becoming a PI, I whole-heartedly encourage you to take this training.

I was extremely disappointed with the service that I paid for. Not only did the investigation I requested not provide any answers, they were unable to uncover information that I myself discovered from my own home laptop computer! Simple things like finding if a person had a facebook account.The final report I was issued had errors in it that I made the company aware of. I sent an email outlining how little they did for almost $600 and that what they did do was flawed. Yet there was no refund or partial refund offered.I would not have even gone ahead with the investigation if they had been honest with me initially and told me that they did not have any extra skills or abilities to do google searches and look at facebook accounts. I outlined the case to them before hand and they said that they could help yet they couldn't. I feel scammed.
