It was really wonderful having food out there.Plus the affordability, I should say that is the most attractive part of it. I would suggest people to visit this restaurant if you want to get some authentic taste of South Indian cuisine

Decided to give Madras Spice, a South Indian restaurant, a try for dinner. Can't believe they're open till 2:00am everyday. One of the only places I've seen that starts with 5% tip. Two weekday specials; Tuesday dosas ($8.99) and Friday biriyani ($11.99).- Eggplant curry ($13.50) - couple of nice chunks of eggplant. Curry was okay.- Madras spice fish curry ($15.99) - fish pieces were tender, curry too similar in flavour to the eggplant.- Chicken biriyani ($11.99 Friday special) - decent amount of chicken but rice was dry.- Mandurai chicken kothu paratha ($16.99) - easily the worst dish of the night. The kothu paratha was dry, bland and uninspiring.Maybe stick with MS's dosas. 2.5 stars.

Today was our first visit here even though Madras Spice has been on Fraser Street for at least 5 years and we pass it all the time. From the start, everyone, even the lone diner at the time, was so friendly and accommodating. We had a toddler with us, with a stroller and required some space. The waiter was so attentive and gave us great service. The food was delicious and plentiful. Each of our choices was only $8.99 because of their Tuesday special for any dosas on the menu (with many to choose). These were the longest dosas we’ve had so far. We will definitely be back to try other items.I was back only a few days later, on a Saturday this time. My group had butter chicken, fish curry, chicken biryani and channa batura. Everything was delicious! And the service is consistently superb.

I got chicken kothu paratha as takeout and it tasted delicious. Staff was nice and friendly and the place was fragrant with South Indian spices! Great experience :)

One of the restaurants I regularly visit for their special andhra bajji / mirchi and tea. A unique thing about tea is that they have free refills for dine-in. So it's a perfect place to sit for those long discussions with friends. I have a tried a few other items here but none of them stand out as good as the tea and Andhra bajji. Their Bhel Puri is quite ok as well.

Ordered Mutton Sukha Dosa and it exceeded all my expectations. There’s nothing more Punjabi you can do to a South Indian dish. Call me biased but I love lamb and I love dosa. And I was specially impressed with the quantity of mutton in the dosa and how well it was cooked. The dosa was huge and more than sufficient for a single person and they had a Tuesday promotion going on and I only paid 10CAD for the whole thing. The service was good too, only thing that could have been better was the ambience and hence a rating of 4.
