Sunbelt Rentals

If you are a DIYer and just need to rent some tools for a job, go to Nor-Val. This place has nice staff... but not very helpful. I tried to reserve something and was told they only have several that are used by companies, and only one for the general public and had no idea as to ehen it would be available and they would call. I missed the call, and called back 20mins later I was told it was gone... just to get a call back 30mins later that it was available... and the response was for me to just keep calling in to check. Even using online, I was told it would be the same experience, no way to 'reserve'.One quick call to Nor-Val and they got me a specific day and time and the gear would be RESERVED... no back and forth. I hope this feedback will drive some changes to help DIYers get their projects done

Really great customer service, fair rates, and great products. The best tool rental shop I have ever dealt with. Highly recommendable!

Rented from this company for years and gave them thousands of dollars in business but will never go back again. All the good old guys already left this shady company and new one dont really care.

Brandon and Calvin are beauties here. Customer service was on point some of the other fellas are a little snarky at the counter but it all worked out in the end will definitely rent from here again.

Great experience with Sunbelt Rentals. We had to rent a small excavator last minute and Jay was very helpful and went over and above to find a rental for us. Thank you to the entire team at Sunbelt Rentals!

Just came into sunbelt rentals and rented scaffolding, went to the yard to get loaded and suggested kindly to the yard worker I need it a certain way for stacking material on top. The yard worker then decided to throw the scaffold plank to the ground in anger and gave us unbelievable disrespect. 2nd time I have been given attitude and last time I come here again. Learn to treat customers with respect! He was training another guy named Josh. Teaching the new guys disrespect.

Incredibly frustrated with Sunbelt Rentals. I called yesterday to rent an enclosed cargo trailer and explained to the gentleman my vehicle make and model. He assured me that my vehicle would be able to pull their 7x12 cargo trailer and asked me to be at the office today by 3pm. I drove all the way across town in traffic hour to get the trailer today with plans to move to Vancouver. When I arrived the guys that were there said there would be no way that I could pull their only enclosed trailer with my crossover vehicle. Obviously this company lacks clear communication abilities which has ultimately cost me valuable time and caused me a great deal of aggravation. The guys in the office were polite about it but if you do choose to use Sunbelt be sure to call and double check that what they say is actually what they mean.

I used to be an equipment rental coordinator, now carpenter/company administrator. I’ve had the rental guys job before so I knew his side. We disagreed on what he should have charged me. He chose to be stubborn and unempathetic. This is a big company, and it seems they don’t seem to care about the needs of their customers over their bottom line. No one told him what a bad review might cost. I won’t be taking me or my company’s business here. I’ll try Nor-Val next.

Customer service was good but monthly rental prices is 31% more then their competitors like We Rent, Wesgroup Equipment Company or Williams Machinery same with their equipment insurance again 64% higher then competitors on a small excavator. That is over $2k more with tax for two months which would effect a small businesses bottom line or a homeowner.

I rented a 14 concrete saw from this company. I unfortunately do not have experience with 2 stroke equipment. Even more unfortunately when I rented the saw I was not informed that it required mixed gas. As a result I put normal gas in it and burned out the motor. In hind sight I wish I had bought the insurance however I figured it wasn't necessary for my small job. Wrong again.....Anyway my 2 star review is based on not getting the info from them that I needed to be successful. I rented the same saw from the home Depot a few days later and not only did they explain to me what was needed but they even provided the mixed gas. When I mentioned this to the person I spoke with at Sunbelt rentals he told me he could only do so much. Seemed a bit weak considering the guy at the Home Depot was able to take the 30 seconds to walk me through it.Anyway the only positive is rather than charge me the full cost of the saw they have agreed to sell it to me for $500 which is substantially less than it's purchase price.The whole experience has been unfortunate and was easily avoidable. Lesson learned by me and hopefully by Sunbelt as well."
