Behesht Restaurant
I had high expectations for Behesht Restaurant during my recent visit, but unfortunately, my experience fell short. I feel it's important to share my feedback so others can make informed decisions when considering this establishment. One major drawback of Behesht is the lack of a waiting list or designated waiting area. This is especially inconvenient during bad weather as there's nowhere comfortable to wait. The poor waiting arrangements made the experience quite unpleasant. Additionally, the staff appeared untrained and unprofessional, constantly arguing amongst themselves.Regarding the food, I was disappointed with the quality of dishes served. The biggest issue was that the food consistently arrived cold, greatly diminishing the enjoyment of the meal. Furthermore, the vegetarian menu was misleading, as it only involved removing meat from regular dishes instead of offering dedicated vegetarian options. This practice is not only misleading but also fails to cater to the specific needs and preferences of vegetarian customers.

It was my first time trying Iranian food in a restaurant and it was something very unique and special, an explosion of flavours in my mouth that I cannot describe, totally worth it, very generous portions and not very expensive. Very attentive and friendly staff even though the restaurant was fully packed of mostly Iranians which is a very good sign that this food is authentic.

Behesht Iranian Restaurant offers a delightful dining experience with their exceptional kababs and Ghorme Sabzi. The kababs are made with high-quality, flavorful meat that is perfectly grilled and served with fragrant rice and fresh herbs. The Ghorme Sabzi is a slow-cooked stew of herbs and tender meat, balanced in flavors and accompanied by fluffy saffron-infused rice. The restaurant pays attention to presentation and provides attentive service, making it a must-visit for those seeking authentic Iranian cuisine.

Excellent food served by friendly people. Everything I’ve gotten in this restaurant is high quality. The barg and lamb shank are the best I’ve had in Montreal. Highly recommend this place!

Aug 2022-My husband and I decided to try something different. Persian or Iranian food sounded good. We researched and this was one of the better rated restaurants. Reviews were accurate. The food was very tasty. The service was friendly and helpful and the ambiance was relaxed. We wanted to start with the Kashk-e Bademjan but it did not come until we received our main dishes. But when it did, it was very warm and tasty. The crispy onions made all the difference. So, we started with the salads that came with the meals. Crispy and fresh with a light yogurt dressing. We then had the mains: a Shish Kebab and a Mixed Koobideh. I had the Shish Kebab which had onions and green peppers skewered with big chunks of beef. The beef itself was a bit over cooked, eventhough I asked for medium rare, but it was very tasty and very soft.My husband had the Mixed Koobideh which I couldn't help but taste. Excellent. Both were full of Persian spices making both very tasty and juicy. Cooked to perfection. The main dishes were also served with saffron rice and a grilled 1/2 tomato. To complete our meal we had Persian tea and baklava.Pricing is excellent. Portions are large.A reservation is a must because there is limited seating.Oct 2022 - We have given this restaurant some time to work out the kinks and yes they did. Service was much much better than it was in August. As for the food, excellent. We tried something different. I had the Crazy Chicken which is served with a salad or soup to start, Saffron Basmati Rice and a grilled tomato. The chicken dark meat chicken was perfectly cooked, juicy and tender with loads of flavor while the rice was fluffy and plentiful. On the other hand my husband had a chicken stew, Fesenjoon with walnut and pomegranate. Wow. Even I liked it. The portion is small, only a few pieces of chicken, but the ample amount of rice fills you up.The experience was much more pleasant.Because the restaurant is rather small the noise level is high. Go later in the evening, around 8pm for a more tranquil setting.

I recently had a takeout order from Behesht Restaurant and overall, it was a good experience. We ordered the Koubideh and Chenjeh, and while the Chenjeh was quite tasty, the Koubideh didn't quite meet my expectations. However, the staff were friendly and accommodating throughout the ordering process, which made for a pleasant experience. The restaurant's interior was also beautifully decorated, adding to the overall atmosphere of the place. One thing to note is that while the quality of the food was decent, the prices were a bit high in comparison. However, this is not uncommon for Persian cuisine, so it's understandable.Overall, I would give Behesht Restaurant a rating of 4 out of 5. While the Koubideh was a bit disappointing, the friendly staff and lovely interior made up for it. If you're in the area and looking for Persian food, Behesht is definitely worth a try.
