Sherbrook Animal Hospital

My cat has been a patient of Dr. Harvinder Hirkewal and his team for 3 years now, and they treat him with the utmost care. My cat is aggressive around other cats or when he smells other cats, and the team there are able to manage him every visit. I’m always told upfront of the costs, and my questions and concerns are responded to in a timely manner. Very friendly team and trustworthy.

I brought my dog Lucas they were very accomodating & awesome people. I highly recommend this Animal Hospital deserved my 5 stars!

We adopted a dog through a rescue that dealt with this clinic. Through contract, we had to bring her to this clinic until her vetting was finished. We went there and first impressions were not great. The receptionist told us that we did not have an appointment. We even showed her the email from the rescue with our appointment date and time. The little dog we adopted was deaf and blind. She had ear tumours. Instead of sedating her to take samples... Doctor Hirkewall wrapped a pair of surgical scissors with cotton and shoved them down her ears. She screamed in pain. He then told us it was brain tissue. I'm sure that was a language barrier and he meant it as something else. Anyways... they wanted to see her in 2 weeks. We did not go. I booked in with my own vet and paid for a proper exam and diagnosis. The rescue called and I explained what had happened. They agreed and allowed me to take her to another vet. This was a few years ago so I'm hoping their care has changed. I still think about this experience now.

I have been taking my 10 year old dog Toto since he was a cute puppy and he has enjoyed every single visit. Prices are good.

My 10yr old dog was lethargic and twichy. I took her in for a check up. Vet say he needs to do blood work - $400 dollars. Says her liver enzimes are elevated. Needs to do a C Scan - $500, and will likely require surgury. He didn't give me a quote but from other dog owners I learned this could cost thousands of dollars. I am a senior on pension, my dog is old, and I don't have that kind of money. Seems to me palliative care is more appropriate. My fellow dog walkers referred me a vet who looks for the doable solution.I agree that they are smarmy - possibly criminal, and I agree with the other posters that the receptionist is anoyed at having to serve the clients. Furthermore, she is scary - with her false eyelashes, 3in painted nails, very generous girth and tons of make up, she looks like a drag queen. No offense to authentic drag queens!

Here is the thing. Most of the staff here is caring and wonderful. The Dr himself is good and able to take great care of your pet.....however the receptionist is horrible, rotten attitude, is lazy, ignorant and is disgusting. How she still works here is beyond me. She is incapable of any task and is constantly in a state of confusion. Her incapacity to do ANYTHING and I mean anything ruins it. 4 tries to get a name right despite it being right in front of her, everything you ask for either doesn't get done or is done so horribly she should not have been involved in any way. Having to ask repeatedly for things that she doesn't do. I do not believe she understands that these are people babies not some arbitrary item. Her inability ruins the entire experience. I made sure to thank everyone who is capable. I made sure to tell her incapable she is and yet she did not even clue in why her excuses to not do what she has been asked were intolerable. Don't waste your time bothering to deal at all with her. The other staff cares. She doesn't. That's simple. The management's obvious overlooking of her glaring inadequacy makes them culpable of enabling of stupidity. Never will I go back. So sad that the rest of the caring staff are represented by her. For shame.

I had a great experience here with my rescue dog. I felt like she was well taken care of and trusted the doctor and techs wholeheartedly. They were gentle and loving with her. 5 stars.

They gave me an appointment as soon as they could when they heard the symptoms of my cat. They were very friendly and they never made me feel bad about Sasha. The doctor diagnosed the problem quickly despite the patient not being cooperative. When Sasha was having diarrhea the staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. I was given medication to help her. I will continue to take Sasha there

I have been visiting Sherbrook for about 5 years now , and have a multi pet home . They are always so accommodating and fair pricing . I foster dogs and often take my fosters to a different vet that’s paid for by the rescue. By doing that I notice the difference between Sherbrook and other vets I’ve visited . At Sherbrook they genuinely care about your pet and go above and beyond . I always trust their opinions and trust them with my furbabies . I recommend to anyone I talk to about vets to go here and have many thank yous when they have made the switch . Plus I’m pretty sure they give a discount when you have multiple pets … me having 6 that is very helpful . My advice is to visit yourself (with your loved pet ) and you will not be disappointed !
