Angles Hair Shawnessy

I was terrified of getting my eyebrows waxed but after seeing Lilianna I no longer have that fear - not only does she do an amazing job, but she is also courteous, friendly, and makes the whole process as painless as possible. I have also had my hair cut at this salon before and the service was lovely. Would highly recommend.

Everyone at Angles is friendly and professional. I have been going to Jenna for a while and she is an amazing stylist! My hair always looks great after. I recently went to Jamila to get my eyebrows done and they were done perfectly. This salon has great customer service and I highly recommend it!

My experience with this Angles salon in April 2015 was mixed at best. Requested cut and decided also needed a colour as well for special event (family funeral) next day. Total cost before tip $200. The stylist who is from Toronto was friendly, polite and offered suggestions - all in all she provide a very good cut. As a colourist - no way - reds looked fine when I was in the shop, but when I looked in the mirror at home and moved the hair away from my face, I was dismay to discover deep red dye stains all along the brow and sides- I immediately sent the shop a quick message with photos attached. Never heard a peep from them- no apology - complete silence - so 3 for cut, 2 for colour and 0 for professionalism.

so, I have very long hair and haven’t got it cut in years. Thought it was time for a change, so decided to make an appointment at Angles Shawnessy for 3:30 on a Saturday. I arrived in hopes of getting 3 inches off my hair. Instead of getting my hair cut, the very rude receptionist told me they were “running behind” and I would have to wait an hour and 15 minutes to have my hair cut. I looked into the back and saw numerous staff doing nothing. I told her that was unacceptable and I would not be waiting an hour and 15 minutes past when my appointment was. She then had the audacity to ask me if I’d like to rebook!!!! Like I would want to rebook with the same place after that!!!! Overall , horrible customer service, bad atmosphere and awful time management. Thank god I didn’t get my hair cut by a bunch of idiots.

Lilliana is one of the estheticians at Angles shawnessy and I've been getting my eyebrows done by her for about a year. she is AMAZING and I always leave so very happy with the wax job. My experiences at Angles have always been absolutely fantastic. Would Defenitely recommend.

Still paying for the horrible mistakes made by this salon. I had just moved to south Calgary and had heard good things about them so I booked in. I have been blonde all my life but went brunette 9 months before my visit to angles. I wanted to go back lighter but thought ombré would be the easiest way to transition. My stylist was eager and positive she could give me exactly what I wanted. After 2.5 hours in the chair (she had my back to the mirror) she blow dryes and turned me around. All my hair from root to tip was bright orange! Not lighter on the ends at all-solid orange! I tried to keep it together but it was so bad I burst out in tears. Late for work but unable to go in public out of embarrassment I agreed to let a more senior stylist fix her mistake. After being there for 6 hours and countless dye jobs my hair looked more like what I wanted but because of the first stylists mistakes I suffered chemical burns all over my scalp with large painful bleeding scabs. I have fine and delicate hair and after the whole ordeal much of my hair broke off less than an inch long. It has been months but I still have chunks of hair snapped off I have to deal with hiding everyday and will take years to grow back. They asked me only to pay for the second service ($300!) but wasted a whole day of my time, missing work not to mention pain, embarrassment, damage to my hair and confidence that will not be the same for years! They made no attempt to give me any products to try and heal my hair and scalp from their mistakes, rather I paid for products full price and full price second service. Stay away from this place if you want to avoid what I went through. Heartbroken to this day!

Extremely un impressed, I had made an appointment to have my hair colored and have always liked and trusted Angles, but I will never go back now. my first clue should have been the receptionist. when I called to book the appointment it seemed as if I was the one guiding the receptionist with steps on what to do, he was clueless about what I was booking for, I even had to remind him to get my name and number. once I had gotten there I realized why. It was a 10 year old boy sitting in the front. I am assuming her son. not only did that concern me, but I was the only one there. Then once Savannah was ready for me, I walked around back to see she and another stylist were coloring a young girls hair, I believe is her daughter, which is fine. but then when I asked how we would be styling my hair today I was confused. I booked for a color not a style or cut. then Savannah looked around the dead shop and told me there was no time for that today and I would need to come back and book again. She clearly did not care. then returned to color her daughters hair.guess this location does not need the money or customers. good to know.

The stylists were very professional. The salon had a very comfortable atmosphere. The senior Stylist (Kim) is very good (book as she's usually too busy for walk-ins). The aesthetician (Liliana) is amazing with eye-brows, especially guys. The Salon is excellent but they don't have a lot of variety with regards to products. The products they do carry seem to be on the high end.

My mom had an appointment with Amy to have her makeup done before my brother's wedding. She had gone to a different salon to have her hair done and it was an absolute disaster. Amy was able to fit her in and fix her hair and do her makeup as well. She was so thankful to Amy and the staff for accommodating her and being able to not only fix what the other salon had done, but make her look super nice for the wedding. Also thanks to Lillianna for the great eyebrow wax and eyebrow makeup as well!

I started going to Angles Shawnessy just over a year ago and have never been disappointed when visiting this salon. From the friendly faces at the reception desk to my wonderful stylist, Kim. I would highly recommend this salon, not only for their services but also for their wide selection in good quality products.
