Shoppers Drug Mart

I shop at the Shoppers store on Torbay Rd several times a week .... you can say I absolutely love the store lol! I honestly would be very upset , angry and lost as to where I'd have to shop if anything were to happen and the reason I'm posting this (which I never did before) is because when i was checking my offers on the Shoppers App yesterday I noticed the store hours said closed .It was strange since the time was only 10pm and they're normally open until 12 a.m (midnight). I figured it to be a mistake until I just now was on my Shoppers App again and it's saying the store is closed right now, its only730 p.m!!!! What is going on??? Canamyone helmer out here??

this shoppers is near my house so i used to go there frequently. i bring my bag with me and put items in as i shop because i have a disability and that helps. i don’t need a cart when i’m picking up a couple items. there were multiple times i’ve entered the store where staff will page each other, then follow me until i got to the checkout. i feel almost offended that staff feel i’m stealing when all i’m doing it putting items in my bag and scanning them ALL at checkout. i wish they could realize this so my anxiety doesn’t spike whenever i want a snack.

When it comes to the store, no problem but the pharmacy team, and I'm sorry to say this, is not a very organized and/or informed team. I have been told information, multiple times, that turned out to be incorrect which has affected my medication, I have had my medication incorrectly filled and the general lack of care for the patients seems unethical considering they are health care providers. My family, friends and colleagues have all had similar experiences with this location.

I went to the post office and talked to the manager Danielle about shipping two envelopes to Ontario she said it would cost about $50.00 for both (I was shipping the famous savoury back to family…. It was near weightless) however she told me if I went home and ‘repackaged’ my envelopes the shipping would be significantly less. So I did, she ended up processing and I paid less than $10.00 she saved me quite a bit of money, she didn’t have to she could have very easily processed my mail and went on with her day but she didn’t and I appreciate that, thank you Danielle!!!

The pharmacy is AWFUL. On three separate occasions to call the pharmacy I’ve been disconnected on, waited on hold for almost an hour, waited til it had to disconnect, etc. they will not answer the phone. When I call in scripts and specify it’s to be picked up tonight or tomorrow and I show up they say oh you said *insert some other time or day* or they dont remember to put it in. Etc. I have NEVER had to deal with this nonsense. It shouldn’t take three hours to speak to someone there. That’s just ridiculous.

ALWAYS CALL AND CHECK YOUR PRESCRIPTIONS PRIOR TO SHOWING UP FOR THEM. These guys are going to HURT somebody. This pharmacy will fill your prescription with the WRONG, MUCH more expensive drug, argue with you that they don't carry the pill you personally got there last month, and when they finally concede to completely botching your prescription, they continue to try charging you for that medication. I refused- I called in for something different and I would not be paying for anything else, and was sent off with a switch medicine for NO reason, almost charged for it while covered by insurance, and the pharmacist in question did nothing but sneer her ugly, maskless face at me the entire visit. This is EVERY time with this location.Rude staff, inexperienced pharmacy and impossible to contact without physically bringing yourself into the store during a pandemic.

I mean I guess everyone has a different experience. I find the pharmacy team to be respectful and haven't had any issues with anyone. Always been respectful, kind and amazing customer service. These last few years has been extremely busy for many pharmacist and the technicians especially with the Covid Pandemic. They are extremely busy I couldn't disagree but if I have any concerns I either call or walk up to speak with someone and have a conversation. As for medications sometimes they run out of certain name brands and will give you another generic brand which isn't unusual and the medication has the same effects. I've been to many Shoppers Drug Mart locations across Canada and they all extremely busy. This location from my personal experience is extremely busy however I am always respectful when I go. Yes I might need to wait a few minutes to speak with a pharmacists but when I do I get nothing but respect. I switched to this pharmacy almost a year ago and based on my experience I would strongly recommend it. Always drop any prescriptions off especially refills a week or two in advance. If they are busy you might have to wait several hours to pick it up. Call ahead and yes you might be waiting to get through to speak with the pharmacy team but it isn't because you are being ignored it means they are extremely busy. As far as I am concerned and based on my experience best pharmacy in town. Remember people being respectful and having patience is extremely important. You will get better service being polite and friendly then if you are given an attitude and being disrespectful. I also like the store sometimes the self checkouts are easier especially when you only have a few items. If I ever have an uncomfortable experience I would gladly update this but I have absolutely nothing negative to say. 5 stars from me.

Good store. Great selection on products. Open late into the night which is the main attraction.

Use to go here; seems like they're doing too well to take care of their patients. The last few times I went to get my prescription, staff were rude and self-entitled. I was treated like they were doing me a favour. I now go to a friendlier pharmacy and, guess what, I still get my medicine. Avoid
