Integrated Maintenance & Operations Services Inc (IMOS)

I emigrated to Canada around 88, and I was amazed at how the roads were kept clear and well maintained despite severe and repeated snowstorms. I was also amazed at how the plows did their actual jobs and the timing involved as I did not see many on the roads during peak traffic hours.The last years (2012-2018) I have really noticed the road maintainence becoming unsafe to the point that I refuse to drive for several hours to a day during heavy snow. I have no faith in the plowing services to ensure a safe commute. Major roads are plowed only a few times in the day time during and after the storm, and some roads are now plowed at all.I noticed that this company is estimated to make about $10M roughly a year and employs about 100 people. There are 52-53 trucks for plowing services in Toronto at the moment. To me, these numbers do not add up.Additionally, from 2014 to now, many plowing companies including this one, have been fined. The fines COMBINED for ALL companies cometo roughly $680k for 2016/17 winters. If you can do the math, you can see that other steps must be taken.Clearly we are paying these companies indirectly through our taxes, I think we deserve better service.This is not a point of privilege. This is an essential service and I think we all need to ask more of these contracted companies as well as our own local government.
