Moving there cost me dearly. I became the villain because I was the one who insisted that the City investigate when the builder/developer refused, then failed to identify a floor to ceiling fire separation breech. I persisted but it took almost a year for a Fire Inspection Order to be posted and they were ordered to make repairs. My finances were drained and I sold to an investor. Investors buy up these units and rent them out at high prices. There was no one to turn to. Shabri Property Management and Collier Property Management were of no assistance whatsoever. In fact, just the opposite. The City of St. Catharines also holds some responsibility for approving the building for residency in the first place.
