Hazel Tutoring
Our daughter spent two days a week last summer with Matt exploring our oxygen rich forests around Whistler. She didn’t miss a day! It was fun, engaging, and educational; no two days were the same.She told me about what they had learned on our drive home, and it was a nice touch that Matt posted pics on Google Drive so that we could visualize what she spoke about.She has continued on with the after school program, and will be there this summer; for sure!Matt is enthusiastic, positive, and professional. We feel very fortunate to have this program on offer.

We have been with hazel tutoring for almost 3 years now and she is a straight A student and has great confidence in her school work thanks to Matt , and moving onto grade 10 , these guys are easy to work with and have a very positive attitude

Hazel Tutoring after school programs and Pro D day programs are great. I love that my kids spend so much time outside learning about nature and a variety of other subjects. The programming is creative and fun for the kids. Matt and his team are lovely, kind and helpful.

Hazel Tutoring
Forest-schooling with Hazel Tutoring was the perfect introduction to Whistler for our daughters, when we moved here last summer. They thoroughly loved hiking the trails with Mel in the summer and have continued on with Matt during the school year. The fun activities and creative challenges Matt designs for our kids, inspire so much learning but all through nature-play. It is not uncommon to have our six-year-old come home and try to train us on ice safety, bear safety and so on!

Our son has been participating in Matt's after school programs since September and LOVES it! He comes home with stories about the outdoor adventures he has had and the forest knowledge he has gained from the amazing activities that Matt puts together for the group. After a day spent indoors at school, adventure play in the forest is such a grounding way to wind down before our evenings at home. Thanks Matt!

My child really enjoys the sessions with Matt, they are learning something new, being challenged and having fun at the same time. He has increased my child's confidence in writing and they really enjoy it now. I really enjoy how each session something new is learnt and gained. My child enjoys how he teaches and makes it different from school. There are no complaints when it comes time for the session.

My daughter attended Matt’s forest camp over spring break. She loved it! Matt is incredible. He is so great with the kids and made my daughter who only joined for drop-in sessions over the break feel so comfortable and welcome. At the end of each day he’d send highlight reels of the day - it was amazing to see everything they got up to each day. So much outdoor learning and fun! The best camp in my opinion.

My son has been having 1-2 sessions with Matt per week for the past 3 years. The improvement we have seen in his reading and comprehension is amazing. He went from below grade level reading and needing to relearn his sounds to being at grade level in a handful of months. My son is not an easy child to tutor but through Matt’s patience and teaching techniques they have made a great connection creating great results. I have recommended Hazel Tutoring to all my friends.
