Kumon Math and Reading Centre of Saskatoon - North

Don’t fall for the advertisements!!! Kumon has been significantly advertised around North America, and from my personal experiences I can honestly say that IT IS NOT WORTH THE PRICE! No one likes to read big long essays so here you go in point form. I hope this helps! :)-It is significantly overpriced and overrated, it costs you hundreds per month and the product/services you receives are not worth it. For instance, their staff workers are ignorant of your child’s academic capabilities and thus fail to bring support for your child to improve.-The worksheet they give are literally found online(not too sure but they didn’t make it). For roughly 300$ a month, we should at the minimum expect some effort to be put on your child, and yet there is essentially none! From my personal experience, they didn’t bring any support except wasting time. (i am going to share more about that in the next paragraph.)-They don’t explain the concept of math equations/formulas. Throughout my 5 year experience at Kumon, they didn’t care if a student understood the concept of the formulas they are teaching. Considering that they charge 150 dollars, I believe making sure their students understands the concept of math equations is a basic service/aspect and yet they failed to comply so. This has caused huge disadvantages to my studies later on as they failed to teach their students the fundamentals of math.-Un-caring staff members. Even though most of their staff members does care about your academic achievement/levels, there are some that just don’t give a s***. Personally, I have met several staff members that simply ignored you when you seek for help and sometimes they even respond with “You need to stop asking for help and try on your own”. I understand if they want students to develop self-solving skills but they forgot the aspects on how terrible they were explaining and their attitude. Again, for 150$/month a course they should provide support to their students and yet they failed to assure that again.-In the city of Saskatoon, I believe that this the best Kumon location(if Kim is still the owner). However, in my personal perspective the entire Kumon system is nonsense but there are still positive aspects.-Kim is very nice and helpful. However, a few suggestions for the owner, TRAIN YOUR STAFF MEMBERS! Make sure they actually care about students academic studies or at least act like they care.The following points above are just my own personal perspectives and experiences. I am not saying that you shouldn’t choose Kumon, am simply pointing out a few facts. Ofc there is still positive aspects about Kumon so CHOOSE WISELY.

This Kumon Center is the best in the city! I have tried them all. Kim is amazing person. She cares about each student progress and change plans to accommodate any circumstances that may arise. I can’t thank her enough for her continuous support for my kids.Her team is also very cooperative and nice .Keep up the great work guys!

The Kumon program has been excellent for my children's education. We have heard about other branches of Kumon and know that our choice to go to Kim and her staff has been the right decision. Our children continue to progress in math at school and we owe it all to Kumon.

Our son was struggling in school all his life. When he was in Grade 5, we put him in Kumon to give him a boost in Math. He has been in it for over 3 years now and it has helped him, not only with excelling in Math now, but in building his confidence and developing a work ethic that is transferable to all subject areas. The every day sheets, based on repetition, are excellent and it's so rewarding for us and for our son to see how much he has become a Math wizard! The self-discipline he has gained by doing this daily work is also such a life-long gift!Kim Kennedy and her team are all incredible. They bring laughter, confidence and incentives to boost the children and help them realize that all their hard work pays off. I cannot say it enough how wonderful this program is. I wish we would have put our son in it way sooner than Grade 5. This is truly the best investment we could have made for our child. Thank you Kim and everyone at Kumon Saskatoon North for your excellence and care! You rock!

Highly recommended.My 2 daughters joined 4 years ago and we can clearly see their progress in Math and reading.Very professional and organized team who was able to function efficiently and safely through the pandemic under the guidance of Kim Kennedy.Kim is very cooperative and easy to reach. I trust her abilities and decisions.

If we could give ten stars, we would. Our children have benefited tremendously from both the Math and Reading program. Under Kim's careful, thoughtful and loving mentorship, both our children have made a lot of progress through the years. She cares deeply about our children's education and we are forever grateful for what she has done for our family. She encourages the kids to work on the level they are working on at their own pace, and makes sure things are moving forward when they are ready.

My 11 year old son began with Kumon in July 2022 after struggling with math for the past couple of years. I realized that his struggles were only going to get worse the higher the grade he was in and he wasn't responding well to my husband and I trying to sit him down and help him. He now has been in Kumon for 5 months and already I have seen a great amount of improvement and confidence in his ability to work with numbers. He still has a long way to go but just seeing his confidence in math grow so much has been an incredible success for him! Kim and her team have shown us so much support and are so understanding. I feel extremely fortunate to be a part of their program! Highly recommended!

My son has been with kumon for the last 8 years. Ms. Kim was my son's first teacher and he learned a lot from them. From reading at 4 years old and knows math by 4-5 years old, how cool is that? Ms. Kim is very accomodating to every concerns you have. When pandemic hit, they set up a plan on how to limit spread of infection which is very impressive. Keep up the good work Ms. Kim and the rest of the team! We are really lucky we met you!

I’ve had 3 children in Kumon. One was in math only and caught up to their grade with the patience of Kim and her team.My other two are in both Math and Reading. One is excelling in Math and is above grade level. With the other subject they are working towards comprehension. I highly recommend Kumon to families.Kim is an amazing instructor, and is very good with communication with parents. If there are issues or if you need a change in the lessons I’ve never had a problem getting ahold of her or voicing any concerns.

Both my boys have been with Kim since Kindergarten and the Kumon program has provided them with amazing confidence and skills that far exceed their grade levels. Kim has been an incredible constant in their lives...the only teacher that has been beside them every step of the way year after year...and that alone is priceless. She sees/hears everything that goes on at her center and is the first to notify us of any problems or issues that arise. She makes herself readily available and is quick to respond to any concerns or emails we might have. Her dedication to helping my boys succeed is second to none. If they have a goal, she is right there to help them achieve it. There are Kumon centers closer to our home, but the difference is worth the drive! Kim has provided both my boys with skills that will help them throughout their grade school, high school and post-secondary education journeys.
