Higher Ground Sports

I was in desperate need of some Splitboard skins so I called Higher Ground and they had the size I needed for my Jones Solution. I then got stuck for 3hrs in an accident on the highway coming into Golden so I missed the closing time of the store. I had very bad cell signal but managed to get through and the incredibly helpful girl offered to drop the skins at my lodge. I lost signal before I could give her my credit card details. After another hour we got out of the traffic jam but the store had been closed for an hour so I messaged the store on Facebook as a last ditch attempt. And surprisingly I got a response. The same incredibly helpful girl was still in the store and said I could swing by to pick up the skins. She saved my day in Rogers pass. Thank you again.

The folks here were really nice and help me out on very short notice today. My skis had some glue stuck and needed to be cleaned and waxed. They kindly did it right away with less than 30 minutes to closing time on New Years Day! Thank you so much!!

Fantastic shop with amazing service. They managed to repair my snowboard with a nasty edge separation within the week I was in golden and even let me come pick it up after hours so I could use it the next day. I also came in a few days later with a boot BOA which had popped out which they fixed free of charge.

Excellent customer service!!! Some folks from our group has some ski issues the night before heading out for our trip and they were able to help us out no problem. Thanks!

Buyer beware: You can't return anything even with a receipt! Overpriced everything but one of only two options in Golden. Smells good though!--ONE YEAR LATER: Thank you for your response. I feel the need to clarify that I was trying to return a simple water bladder that I had literally purchased 3 minutes earlier. No joke. I had simply purchased the wrong style and the style I needed was not available. My wife asked me to return it and, even though I was the last customer served, the cashier spoke to me as if I was just a number. She couldn't have cared less. I felt deceived/disrespected and that was why I was motivated to leave a review. I should also mention that a store credit was not offered as I would have taken that over an incompatible bladder in a heartbeat.

I was disappointed with the service every time I went there. I felt like I was bothering employees when asking for help and advice. Considering that there is a good selection of rental gear and the prices are competitive, I think the place would be great if a little more attention and guidance was given to customers

Went in the store 10 minutes before closing (I know, I was that guy) to get my highback fixed on my snowboard bindings. The next day was going to be my last day in Golden to ride Kicking Horse Mountain Resort.The repair and replacement took a little longer than expected as they had to completely replace the part and to our disadvantage the binding was not being cooperative. They stayed open late to make sure I would be able to ride for my last day! AND they did not abuse my situation and did not overcharge for any of the work!If you are looking for any repairs for your winter equipment I would HIGHLY recommend going there! I also saw them working on bicycles so I am sure they would have you covered too!

Great bike shop. I’ve been to a number of bike shops for issues and maintenance while touring and this is one of the best ever. They helped me right away, had my tandem up on the stand and problem diagnosed in a few minutes and immediately took care of it. Really good service and I was surprised by the low price. I hope I can find a shop this friendly, helpful and knowledgeable closer to home.

I stopped in here fully ready to buy new ski boots and instead they took a look at my current boots and made some suggestions to improve the fit and comfort. Knowledgeable and friendly staff and the shop has everything you’d need to get out on the hill. Highly recommend a stop here while you’re in Golden.
