We're Connected by Compassion - Humane Society Hastings Prince Edward | HSHPE cares for stray, surrendered, neglected and abused animals in Hastings and Prince Edward Counties. The Society returns lost animals to families, coordinates adoption of animals to forever homes, provides medical care and other necessities for animals in distress, provides spay/neuter services to control pet over-population and educates the public about animal welfare.

Stephen was amazing to deal with, he answered all our questions and made us feel at ease while we were dealing with such a dire situation. The Humane Society is spotless, everything is new and upgraded and all the staff are so kind and knowledgeable. They definitely put their hearts into the work they do!

I had the absolute pleasure over recent months to volunteer with the Humane Society (Hastings Prince Edward) as a photographer. While time constraints and other commitments brought that sweet chapter to a close, the memories and experience will stay with me forever. The dedicated staff, fellow volunteers, and of course, all the beautiful animals… are simply amazing! I highly recommend their animal services or to volunteer if you have a chance – you won’t be sorry!

No help, only indifference. Was put on a wait list to put a cat in their care - 4 months later, not a call. Called regarding possible mange in wildlife, only told to call that place in Deseronto, who never returned my call either.Adopt, don't shop? Not from here.

The new building is great and it's plans for the next phases, when it gets the funding, will be really exciting and they plan to include a vet clinic so animals can be treated onsite. The level of care the staff shows for the animals is heartwarming and great to see.

I had a wonderful experience adopting my dog Cora. Every staff member I interacted with was wonderful, especially the young man who would bring Cora to me when I came for visits before taking her home. Thanks to Steve as well for helping me through the process. Now that Cora has joined my family, she is one happy dog and we are very happy with such a beautiful, playful, gentle addition to our home, and I have these fine folks to thank for that.

Very disrespectful staff, came to look at a dog at 12:15 was in the meet and greet room and then told us to get out and wait cause someone else wanted to see queenie. When we were told the day before it first come first serve and we were there first. Feel very disrespected and will never step door in there again nor recommend you to anyone. You are the worst humaine society I’ve ever stepped my foot into. You guys shouldn’t even be open so disorganized as well!!! Feel bad for the animals that have to say there wish I could take each and every one they are so abused there it’s heartbreaking
