Out & About Boutique

This was one of the best boutiques I visited while staying in Vancouver. Despite some of the reviews on here, I received such exceptional service while browsing for xmas gifts, and thought they were all respectively priced (quality > price tag). Plus, they had a great holiday sale and I just could not resist picking something up for myself too. Houseware, books, cards/stationary, clothing from all over the world, and they were all so beautifully crafted and curated. I hope to return soon and will keep my eyes peeled on the web (free shipping to US for purchases over $300) in the meantime. Thank you Out & About for being a one stop shop!

To me, this is the best place to shop in Canada for daily objects mindfully selected for their reliable quality and tastes of esthetics. It is always reminding me of all the life-style boutiques scattered in Japan, who are carrying merchants showing tastes and passion of happiness" of our every-day lives.It also the shop where I go every season for my wardrobe--Danton

Very nice staff and great selection of housewares! They have some great cards too and other little accessories with Japanese influence.

If you are in the area, it’s a must to stop by. They have a beautifully curated collection of glassware, ceramics, some clothing, books, stationery, etc. It’s a good mixture of Japanese brands/small business and local ones.

A very clever and carefully curated Japanese inspired store right in Gastown. The owners are delightful, friendly and helpful. We spent quite a while in the quaint store just looking at everything. The vintage shop in the basement is also amazing, be sure to check that out too. Check out this store if you’re ever in Gastown!

Had to look for a unique piece and was able to find it on their online shop (I’m in the US so thank goodness). Fast international shipping and the items were carefully packaged. Amazing service and would highly recommend if you’re looking for something special. Thank you!!

For a shop that is so lovely and full of such unique items, most of which have a hefty price tag, I wish the service was friendlier. It would be nice to have some engagement (hello/do you need help/thank you/have a good day, etc) when trying to interact instead of silence upon entering and during payment.

An elegant and artistic shop. You can find handmade ceramics and illustrations from Japanese artists.

The stuff in store are pretty and aesthetic, but I was so disappointed in their poor service. This is my first bad review, I wanna give it to Out&About Boutique. I went there on last Thursday afternoon. There was a guy and a lady at that moment, and that lady server with short hair was so mean and unfriendly. Never a smile, since I greeting first, that lady was staring at the front and say nothing. I felt so uncomfortable browsing in store, so I just wanted to say goodbye. What shocked me is that she gave me an eye roll and say bye. I reviewed some of the feedbacks from other customers, and they mentioned that kind of bad experience too. So I kindly ask the manager to focus on training your workers instead of only promoting your products on various social platforms, because the customers won’t buy the bad service.

Read about this shop on my Air Canada flight to Vancouver! So had to pop in when I spotted it on the edge of Gastown. A beautifully curated gift shop with ceramics, decorations, books, accessories and clothing (located downstairs) - it's a lovely space to get lost in and admire some gorgeously made products.
