The ramen here is remarkable. Between the food and outstandingly friendly service, it's a must visit. Just stick to the cha-shu ramen because it's what makes this restaurant unique.

This small quaint ramen restaurant is located on a busy street but has parking on either side of the street. They have indoor and patio seating. The flavor if the food I ordered was spot on. I added a little sesame seeds and chili's to my Aka Ramen. The Gyoza was flavorful along with the dipping sauce. Their Pale Ale was good too however I could not finish it.

Maruhachi (formerly Marutama) used to be one of my favorite ramen joints in Vancouver! However, I was disappointed with the experience I had this time. I came with a friend on a Friday evening around 7pm and there was a short line up to wait. It went very quickly and we didn’t have to wait too long. The issue I had wasn’t with the line up, though! It was with the ramen itself. The noodles and tamago egg were great, I think their egg is still the best and cooked to perfection. But the chashu wasn’t warm enough, and I also thought it was too thick/wasn’t tender. Because it wasn’t warm enough, the fat/lard in the chashu solidified, and it wasn’t appetizing with the ramen. I haven’t had this experience before and really hope it was a one off!

First time here for lunch. Ordered the original ramen which I thought had a flavourful but borderline salty broth. Not a whole lot of toppings and the meat was quite thin. The ramen noodles has a good chew to them which I liked.

Delicious ramen and friendly staff. We are definitely coming back here. Recently visited this establishment for the 2nd time and it disappointed. Staff had to be called to get our orders after waiting 10 mins. Got our food and staff didn't even come once to offer refill for tea or water.

The Tamago ramen has really rich soup base and out of this world delicious egg omg.Order spicy for extra kick otherwise mild should suffice.

Food was delicious, came out hot, serving size was reasonable for the price. This place is a good place just to get a quick bite, not to linger. Overall pretty good.

I really liked the texture of the ramen here, but I was also super hungry at the time. I liked that the cha sui was not super fatty and it went well with the other toppings. The flavour of the soup tasted different than the ones I’ve gotten anywhere else though, there is an underlying Asian soup flavour to it. I grew up drinking those soups, so I didn’t mind it.The decor is nice, although the restaurant can get very loud. Service was decent, but it felt like the server was rushing us out even though half the restaurant was empty.Overall, not bad and I would come back if it’s not busy.

I ordered Aka Ramen and Gyoza..Gyoza is great like most of the best ramen places I’ve been to.The Aka ramen seems a little sour, it has lemon-y taste on it. Not for me. A lot of noodles no need to order Kaedama.. broth is good but not thick no need to add “liquid salt”. I added some sesame seeds, spice level is perfect. It’s around 1pm on a hot sunny day in a not so full place, and the server seems to be exhausted already, probably from the influx of customers from lunch time.My kid loved the noodles from her Tamago Ramen but wasn’t able to finish her soup like she always does.No Cash.
