Based on my recent experience, I would not recommend this notary.

We chose this notary for completing purchase of a house based on the seller's recommendation. Unfortunately, our experience was not a positive one. The work done seems to have been done correctly, although I have no way of verifying that at this time. But the price quoted of $1800 was the highest among the quotes we got. Then they dropped the ball with respect to some time-sensitive matters because their secretary (to whom they had asked us to send some documents) had gone on vacation and nobody noticed the documents. Instead of taking responsibility for this mistake, the notary insisted on us paying another $250 plus tax to cover extra work needed to rectify the situation (now needed a power of attorney for me to sign for my brother who had to leave the country).I tried to discuss the issue with Marc Nadeau personally, explaining that their price was already quite high, and that it was not fair to make us pay for their mistake. He was surprisingly rude and unbending in his position on this issue, would not agree to lower the fee by any amount, and told me to go to another notary if I wanted. I was quite surprised by this attitude and agreed to go elsewhere, but to my surprise they then held the documents they had received from the seller and from my bank hostage, demanding that I pay a high fee they unilaterally decided on for the work already done. With little time left to the closing date, I could not take any chances, so I was forced to agree to pay them the full amount plus the extra $250 plus tax and continue with them until the transaction finished. The total fee was over $700 higher than the best estimate we had received.To add insult to injury, they took far too long to send me the documents after the closing and I had to follow up several times for them to do so. Once we did get the documents, we only found out months later that the lease for one of the tenants, which they had listed as being in the package, was not included. On enquiry, they took no responsibility and simply told me that's all there was. The lack of that lease created significant problems with a tenant that would not comply with building rules, and we could not enforce them as, without a copy of the lease, we could not prove the previous owners had outlined those rules.Based on our experience, I cannot recommend this notary to anyone. There are many others in the area, so I suggest you look elsewhere.

J'ai régulièrement fait affaire avec tous les notaires de Nadeau et associés en tant que conseiller hypothécaire et j'ai aussi récemment retenu les services de Me Monast pour l'achat de ma résidence. Tous les clients que je leur ai référé pendant 2 ans n'avaient rien à redire.J'ai toujours été impressionné par la rapidité de la communication, la simplicité, le professionnalisme (tant des notaires que du personnel de soutien) et la qualité de la prise en charge des dossiers.Je recommande fortement ce cabinet!

The buyers of our home chose to go with this office. It was an incredibly unprofessional experience that caused a lot of stress for us. Would strongly suggest to avoid.

J'avais fais affaire au Bureau Nadeau et associées mais avec une autre notaire qui a un excellant service pour mon testament. Malheureusement, elle a déménagé dans une autre région. Alors quand mon père est décédé, j'ai décidé de rester avec le même bureau de Notaire et de faire affaire avec Me Nadeau... erreur. Trop cher pour le peu de service que j'ai eu. Cela ne me dérangeais pas de payer, un bon Notaire ça se paye en conséquence. Il a traité le testament et recherche testamentaire du décès de mon père et je ne l'ai pas rencontré un seul fois (parlé juste au téléphone). Il donne pas vraiment de conseil, donne presque pas d'information. Il n'a pas eu la décence de présenter au bureau pour les fois que je suis allé. Il était toujours en télétravail. Et je considère que j'ai été mal conseillé. Alors à la mis parcours, j'ai pris mon dossier et je suis aller voir un autre notaire qui a jusqu'à date un excellent service et que j'ai pus rencontrer à son bureau! Je ne vous le recommande pas.
