The Finishers Touch

Marc and Carl were extremely professional, thorough and responsive to our questions regarding the work. We hired Finishers Touch to complete wainscoting and a reclaimed wood feature wall in our bathroom, as well as a large panel molding feature wall in our main stairwell. They were also very communicative, discussing options as the work got underway. Very friendly guys too and always enjoyed chatting with them during the project. The work looks fantastic once completed and they really paid close attention to the small details, which we appreciated. We'd definitely recommend them and are planning to hire them again in future.

We had Mark and Carl do a significant amount of wainscoting in our home in the spring. We were very pleased with the result. It is clear that they know what they’re doing, are very professional and are extremely detail-oriented. We will definitely be seeking their services again in the future!

We hired The Finishers Touch to replace our stair treads, as well as install stair skirts during our home renovation. It started off well enough, but while removing the old stair treads, the guys put multiple holes in newly drywalled/painted walls with their crow bars. I mentioned that they were new walls, and was told that the damage was 'part of the process'. The treads were replaced over the course of 3 days - and then it was time for the skirts to go in.It is very clear from the final result that the owner had not much experience with stair skirts. It took almost 9 hours to install 3 pieces, and they look absolutely awful - as if done by an amateur. The heights on the top and bottom are all different - so there is no way the baseboards will neatly tie into them - a detail that was discussed at great length prior to install. Additionally - the skirt board doesn't go completely into the corner of the stair tread, and the carpenter tried to piece little triangles to cover for the mistake. And, our walls were scratched and gouged even further during that process.Upon discussing with the owner the issues above, he was quick to blame the age of the house for the way the skirts turned out - blaming differences in height on the treads... the treads that he rebuilt a few days prior with no attempt to correct the heights.He did offer to come back and re-do all the work, but I declined as I didn't believe he had the skills to do properly. A small credit was offered off of our invoice. Two days after receiving it, the owner texted twice and called once early on a Saturday morning to ensure it was going to get paid.I feel that their craftsmanship was extremely sub-par, and the owner was most unprofessional in handling the issues and the invoice. I would consider other options for your carpentry work, as I would not recommend this company to anyone.Photos will show the damage, and the missing pieces in the corners.

Marc and Karl are talented, attention to detail, professionals. They responded quickly to phone calls and emails, showed up on time, cleaned up thoroughly afterward and most of all, were friendly and unobtrusive. It can be frustrating to work with contractors and subcontractors, simply because they work on a “good enough” spectrum and don’t finish on time or have excuses for not meeting expectations, like your hiring them means nothing because they can find work elsewhere, the client means nothing. Not Marc and Karl. They are respectful, follow through and their clients come first. We appreciated this a great deal. Their work is perfection, they really care about the finished result. We keep looking at what they did everyday and are thrilled. They pride themselves on being truly detailed and perfection is their goal. They exemplify what a true “finisher” craftsperson is known to be. We already have plans to hire them for more work and look forward to inviting them into our home again. You will not regret hiring these two skilled professional and amazing entrepreneurs.

Marc was quick to come out and quote (next day), and he was professional, courteous and transparent through the whole experience. It seems like he knows his trade well, offering to do mock ups of casings to find a style we liked. We were unable to hire Marc due to our own self imposed time constraints, but I would have felt comfortable going ahead with Marc on our job if that were not the case.

It was a pleasure working with Marc and Carl from The Finishers Touch to bring our renovation to completion . We received a detailed quotation in a timely manner which was competitively priced . Choosing baseboards , casings and crown mouldings can be very confusing with so much to choose from . Marc was very patient through this process and made great recommendations which we decided to go with and it came together and looks awesome . Marc and Carl both pay close attention to the smallest details and it shows in the end result , they are truly skilled craftsmen at their trade .I highly recommend The Finishers Touch and will definately use them again .

They made recommendations as necessary and were very honest about the scope of work. I contacted Finishers Touch to inquire on a quote to do crown moldings and painting in my home. After reading through their impressive website and reviews on TrustedPros, I trusted that I was contacting a good company to do the work. Marc, who replied to my email inquiry, said he needed to come out to have a look at my place in order to give me a quote. Unfortunatey, Marc did not show up for both appointments as scheduled, simply because his schedule was too busy. I honestly have no problems waiting for an appointment time, but the issue I have is that he didn't show up both times. As such, I feel like his time is more important than my time and felt that he was very disrespectful of my time. Anyhow, he asked to reschedule again but after I emailed him ask if he will show up at the third appointment, I never heard back from him. I guess he simply doesn't care. Very disappointing to see a business run like this. I'm glad I did not proceed with hiring the company for any work.
