John 3:16 Malaysian Delights
Good food. The restaurant interior was nice too. Very busy around dinner time so I recommend a reservation. The food came very quickly and was delicious! For those who don’t eat spicy, make sure you ask the server since I found the “mild” spiciness level pretty challenging (but bearable). I enjoyed everything except the table behind me, which had a guy who literally could not say a single sentence without repeating the F word at least twice.

Tried this place for the first time as it was close to my hotel and we were feeling Malaysian food. Friendly service. We made a reservation thanks to others advice and thank God we did. The restaurant got really busy. Food came out fast and it was hot and fresh. Everything tasted delicious. We were so full but couldn't stop eating. We will need to go back the next time we are in Vancouver so we can try other dishes.

John 3:16 Malaysian Delights offers a tantalizing taste of Malaysian cuisine, with a few hiccups in terms of service and atmosphere. We started off our culinary adventure with the Satay Chicken Skewers. The succulent, marinated chicken pieces were grilled to perfection, boasting of a pleasant smokiness, and the juicy meat paired wonderfully with the rich peanut sauce, leaving us craving for more.Next, we ventured into their Chicken Curry. The dish was fragrant, with a symphony of spices singing in the background. However, we were left slightly underwhelmed by the heat level, as it was not as spicy as we had anticipated. Despite this, the chicken pieces were tender and the curry flavorful, making it an enjoyable dish. Our final entree was the Hainan Chicken. This dish was a standout, featuring succulent, tender chicken that easily pulled apart, accompanied by fragrant rice and a delightful dipping sauce. It truly transported us to the streets of Malaysia with every bite.Unfortunately, the service left something to be desired. The waiters were not very proactive in refilling our water, causing us to flag them down multiple times. Moreover, upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a pungent toilet smell that marred the overall ambiance.

Very busy restaurant at lunch hour, have to wait 10 minutes for seat. Atmosphere was warm and a bit old style, food was excellent, good portion, fair price.

Very average quality Malaysian food but I find it's inconsistent, not sure if chef changed since the last time I went. A bit on the greasy side but I liked the skewers and chicken rice best. They don't split bills and don't accept credit card if under 30$ so bring debit or cash. Parking lot in the back is sometimes full. The best thing is the message on the wall.

In Vancouver and wanted to try reputedly the best Hainanese Chicken here. The chicken was good but was served a bit differently from other hainanese chicken with a savory sauce on top rather than the sweet soy dipping on the side so beware if looking for authentic traditional hainanese chicken. I doubt this is the best hainanese chicken in Vancouver and it would not even rank among the top 3 in Las Vegas, New York and not even the top 10 in HK. The others dishes stole the show though. Chow Kway Teow, beef rendang, satay, Kari laksa and roti were all excellent. Note there is nearby construction going on so the dining atmosphere is a bit hampered.

We're always delighted to have a meal at John 3:16 Malaysian Delights ! There are two locations for this restaurant. This time we went to the Richmond location. It had been years since I last visited the Richmond branch. They've moved to a different location in Richmond; it's much more spacious than the previous spot that they were in. On the table:Roti CanaiKari ChickenChar Kuey TeowRojakSambal Okra, Green Beans & EggplantSambal FishBeef RendangCendolEverything was nicely done except for the Cendol. The ice in the Cendol seemed to be crushed ice which meant that we ended up with bigger chunks of ice in our mouth than we'd have liked. This dessert would have been much better if the ice had been finely shaved instead of the crushed ice that we got. We also found the presentation to be a bit odd. Usually, this dessert would be served in a bowl. This Cendol was served to us in a tall, glass mug...the kind you'd expect to see if you walked into an A&W restaurant. The usual bowl would have been much preferred as the mug made it difficult for us to mix up the ingredients.Service: GoodParking: Free Customer parking availableLocation: 6838 No. 3 Rd., Richmond
