Ontario Educational Credit Union

I have been with the Ontario Educational Credit Union for over 25 years and will never consider going back to mainstream banking. Jerry Stecko and the amazing staff at OECU are extremely knowledgeable, professional, friendly and understanding. They are always there to support and help in good times and times of need, without judgment or self-interest, with excellent financial advice that always meets my personal financial needs. The interest rates, fees and financial products are very competitive and far more reasonable than regular banks and OECU takes security, including online banking, very seriously. I have never had a problem. I am very grateful for their incredible service and strongly encourage anyone to switch over and give them a try!

Our family has always had a friendly, welcoming and positive experience with our credit union.We originally had our 1st mortgage with one of the big banks and come renewal time, we reached out to Jerry who showed us nothing but kindness and how we could save and pay down quicker with bimonthly payments plus he took over the property tax payments too.That was 23 years ago!!!Never have I felt like a number, the way I have at the other 'big' banks.All staff treat us like appreciated clients and that makes a huge difference.The Credit Union has helped us many times over the years and we are proud not to be affiliated with the traditional big banks.DJohnston

We prefer to use the Ontario Educational Credit Union for our investment properties instead of a big bank! Why? Because we deal directly with Jerry Stecko who is a senior member service representative, on a regular basis he is professional, personable and trustworthy! He believed in us and guided us through strategies that have only benefited us with our properties.The Ontario Educational Credit Union offers the same services as the big banks and their fees and interest rates are comparable, if not lower at times. I have recommended Jerry to my teacher colleagues who have switched over from big banks because he has helped them find solutions that work for their finances. He takes the time to analyze the situation and guide based on what benefits them. The location is central Mississauga and easy to get to, the tellers at the front counter are kind and personable. If you haven’t switched over yet to a credit union it’s a must! Schedule an appointment you won’t regret it!!!

I don't know why people put up with the indifference and lack of personal touch at the big banks. When I went to one of the Big Guys, the customer service person with whom I had been developing a business relationship was usually gone, transferred. The new person usually displayed complete ignorance of me and my financial concerns. Not so the Ontario Educational Credit Union; there someone will know your name and have excellent advice because they know you. I have been retired for over 10 years and I will deal with no other banking institution.

I can't say enough about the excellent service I have received from OECU. Jerry Stecko has been my financial advisor for over 20 years and has never let me down. He is so knowledgeable, professional and has helped me through some difficult times. A wonderful business and more importantly wonderful staff!

I’ve been with the OECU for over 20 years. The best thing about it is that I can call or walk into the branch and not only recognize the team that works there but they greet me by name. It’s amazing to be with a financial organization that is not only capable of meeting the needs of people living in a large city but that it is supportive of all their clients in a way that makes it feel like you’re part of a smaller community.

The OECU is a great financial institution. Better than any other banking institution I have used. I have been with them for almost 20 years. Every time I have needed some help with my finances, OECU has been there for me. The staff is attentive and courteous and so much easier to get a hold of than a regular bank. I love the fact that there is no judgement and always unbiased and sound financial advice. Jerry Stecko is AMAZING and goes out of his way to help my family in any way that he can over the last 10+ years. I highly recommend OECU.

We've been with the credit union since the beginning of home ownership- over 16 years. We will ALWAYS come back to them for our mortgage and financial advice.They were extremely honest with the amount of money they were willing to lend us for a mortgage. We love their honesty went it comes to financial opinions. By the way, when I go in to do some banking and want to talk to Jerry, our finacial advisor, there's always a smile and giggle that you wouldn't get from any other institution.There's a huge advantage with having a mortgage with them - no penalties for changing the amount you want to pay into it as long as you pay the minimum.They are fantastic and smart. Ask away!

We walked away from the Big Banks 25+ years ago (closing all accounts and mortgage ) after the supports we received from OECU.Adding to all the previous reviews, Dianna, Jerry, Sue, Daisy, Kat, the whole team go above and beyond knowing the meaning of true customer service: knowing you by name, friendly service (no bank can attest to that).Jerry and Dianna from day 1 helped set up accounts and our mortgage and renewals with excellent financial advice and service. They understand our financial needs and tailor plans to support us.I've highly recommended OECU to school staff over the years for the positive financial support and advice that they would not receive from the Big Banks.
