New Port Child Care Center

Horrible owner and a terrible environment for kids. If something happens to your child, they take zero accountability. The owner, Sally, is extremely unprofessional and lacks total common sense. There are other much better daycare options in the area. I withdrew my child from here. Wouldn’t recommend.Be aware, owner asks friends and family to write fake reviews! Quite desperate!

I have had both of my children at Newport for the past year and cannot express how thankful my husband and I are to have access to such an excellent daycare for our children. Newport has been the only experience with day cares my children have had, and of course I was nervous allowing anyone to care for my babies aside from family- this anxiety was very quickly relieved at Newport. The staff in both the infant/toddler room and the 3-5 room genuinely care for each child there, and the attachments between child and staff are tangible. The children are greeted with excitement and love each morning, the staff are attentive, interactive and very caring and loving with the children. The staff really get to know each child and their needs and respect how different this can be from one child to the next. The communication and dedication in being transparent with parents has been exceptional. The center is always clean and tidy. Before enrolling at Newport, I visited 6 other day care centers, and I am so so glad we chose this one. A special shout out to the manager, Jessica, who goes above and beyond to connect with parents and make sure that all needs are being met.

My daughter has been attending this daycare since the age of 1 (she is now turning 3) and the learning/friendships she has gained from the experience has been invaluable. She loves her friends, her teachers" and the special activities the team has planned for the kids every day! A special shout out to Jessica

There are some people who should not operate a business. The owner of this daycare is one of those people. The way she treats the parents of the children is absolutely unprofessional. We will not go into details but we experienced and witnessed many many instances where the owner acted inappropriately and almost verbally abusive to parents, her patrons.The facility is in a newer commercial storefront, and is really not set up well for providing care to two different age groups. There is little daylight, cramped space, and improper areas for napping and other programmed functions of the daycare. There is no outdoor area provided; because of this we really do not understand how they received their license. They are required to take the kids a couple blocks away to an open green space that is part of a nearby residential tower development. Really not ideal, and therefore we are quite certain the kids often do not get daily outside time.All this being said, the staff are wonderful people. They helped foster a caring atmosphere for our child. We thank them for taking a poorly setup environment and making it as good as it could be. Kate is an amazing care provider and someone we hope our child remembers forever.We hope that the staff find great jobs elsewhere, because they truly deserve something better. As for New Port childcare itself, we would say that for the sake of children's quality of care, and the sanity of parents, we'd hope that this establishment closes. We have seen a lot of turnover of kids so I guess it's just a matter of time.

Our daughter attended Newport Child Care Center for two years, since 2013. We are sad to leave it as our daughter is now starting Kindergarten. They provide a caring and safe environment; the daily routine is well organized with scheduled activities and outside time. Lots of attention is paid to parents’ notes in a sign-up sheet; there is a good policy about sick kids, allergies etc. Some of the things we really loved about the daycare are: very clean children's play area; lots of things to do every day; educational topics for every week, like ‘planets’ or ‘bugs’, and also French lessons; perfect support for kids’ birthday celebration. Newport child care is one that I would recommend without reservation!Irina

My boys were in the care of Newport Childcare from 2015 to 2019. My oldest son started part time when he was 2, and my younger son joined him when I returned to work after maternity leave. We chose this Centre after being recommended by a friend, and could not be happier that she did. The staff are so great with all of the children and treat them like their own (I credit my boys' potty training to these fine ladies). I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone looking for childcare in the Port Moody area. Miss Jessica and Miss Soheila will always hold a special place in our hearts!

Our daughter has been at Newport Daycare for nearly a year (previously at their sister location) and she absolutely loves it here! They are clean, caring and very attentive to the kids and their individual personalities. We absolutely love the teachers and trust our daughter in their care. She comes home happy every day and that is important to us.

Our daughter graduated from Newport in August. We feel very lucky to have had her there. The teachers are so kind and genuinely care about the children. The daycare is well organized, and they have good safety procedures in place. Our daughter had lots of fun at Newport, and made some good friends. We will miss Newport Daycare!

I really feel sorry for the management of this kindergarten, they are extremely rude. After two days of going to this kindergarten, my son had fallen on the playground and the corner of his nose was torn, bleeding, swollen, and bruised. Unfortunately, when I asked the reason, the coaches said that we don't know what happened, we only saw blood coming from his nose, and when I asked the management about the reason, they gave me an extremely rude answer and said that the number of children is 27 and we have three coaches. It's a normal problem, they don't care about children's health and instead of consoling and apologizing, after a year of waiting on her list, she removed the responsibility. Based on my experience, I do not recommend this kindergarten in any way, because if something happens to your child, the management here is not responsible.

Our daughter attended for two years from less than 1 years old until 3. We were so pleased to have her there. She was so well cared for and very happy. She is still close with her best friend from there. We loved the teachers. We found the owners to be very amenable and always willing to work with our sometimes crazy schedule. I'm expecting my next baby and we will very gladly be sending her to Newport!
