I have done business with Vacuum King for over 10 years, first and still as a service customer and then as a vacuum cleaner purchaser. We have found this company to be super (i.e. 5 stars). They will repair things and do a good job at a fair price (unusual in this day and age of most everything being disposable).When it came time to buy both a vacuum being given as a gift for a family member's housewarming or one we needed as we were finding what we had too heavy to lug up and down 3 flights of stairs, we were given great advice and directed to machines that were far less costly then we had originally decided on and were, in fact, better choices for our needs.Vacuum King owner and staff are fair and honest and I recommend them without hesitation.

I am so delighted with the service I have received from the technician at Vacuum King on Mt. Pleasant. He has spent a great deal of time fixing my old Electrolux vacuums so that now I have two vacuums that will work well for a long time. I will also take my new Miele to him when I need service.

I am quite surprised by the positive reviews, and frankly a little suspicious of them. (Especially as all reviews are either glowing and over personal, or completely negative.) As a potential customer that was almost a guaranteed sale, I ended up walking out with the promise to the owner that I will never step foot in that place again. A review like this is very abnormal for me, as I enjoy commending hard work and care, but at this point feel like this is a Public Service Announcement.Since I see names posted here in other comments already, I will say that Susanne is absolutely lovely, and almost had me buying a Miele vacuum right there. She answered all my questions and helped me understand the differences between the models on display. Her fantastic customer service was rudely interrupted by the male owner who demeaned her, and repeatedly yelled at her and called slow for the time she spent with me and demanded she service another customer, saying he was too busy.I was so disturbed by the tone in which this man spoke that I had to speak up to the verbal animosity that was being targeted at Susanne and the disrespect to her and myself as a customer. Normally I walk away from low key situations, but this was next level. When I politely but firmly commended Susanne and asked why she had to jump away from me right then as I was a customer too, he yelled at me and told me my business was not needed, nor was I welcome in his store. There was more to his harassment of me (a potential customer at that time) and his employee, but this covers the major gist of it. He did not back down, and his level of animosity is quite concerning. I left the store after trying to keep things positive for Susanne, and will not be returning as it is quite clear that this not only are there huge people/respect problems here, but that I will not be getting any type of service that I would appreciate as a customer.Upon sharing my experience with a friend local to the area, I was promptly told that there have been many other similar experiences for others. While that part is hearsay, I strongly recommend you save yourself a trip and go elsewhere for purchasing/fixing your vacuum. The type of behaviour I witnessed was not that of someone experiencing stress and accidentally snapping, there was no level of an oops" moment

I went into the shop today trying to find a vacuum, and instead witnessed workplace harassment. I was on a video call with my partner, when the owner came out and was upset with the employee because I wanted to check in with my partner before spending $$$. Very rude and unprofessional. All the best to the one employee who provided very good service to me.

My Honeywell central vacuum had a motor fail light on and wasn't starting. Thomas was really helpful from the initial phone call, giving me information on next steps for repair and alternate options to in shop repair and replacement of the motor. He repaired it on the spot quickly and without appointment.

I've been several times and they fix something small and not charged me. When I hit something more serious go on my vacuum I went there and they fixed it for a very nominal sum under $30. They are very helpful and if you go somewhere else you're making a big mistake because this is the place to go to fix your vacuum or buy one! Thanks to the technician and the lady who served me.

I took in my Panasonic Vacuum for repair, my guess was that the on/off switch was not working. Thomas checked it out and phoned the next day to tell me the engine had failed and it could not be repaired, he offered to dispose of the vacuum for recycling. I decided to collect my vacuum and take it elsewhere, Thomas told me that he was disappointed that I had come to collect it.I took my vacuum to another repair shop, they quickly diagnosed that the on/off switch was not working and had it fixed with two days.I have grave doubts as to the competence/ethics of this shop
